KG5CEN has a new ratflector operational for general use located in Slidell, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana running on a Raspbery Pi 3. As an added feature, a regular D-rats station is running on the same computer as MAILDROP. ?Stations that wish to utilize the new ratflector feature can use the "Send VIA" command to leave mail at the maildrop for another station that might be off the air at the time. ?Messages would be delivered when the addressee came back online and connected to the St. Tammany ratflector. ?It also supports a shared file folder with a number of files of use to new D-rats users.
Please note that the MAILDROP will only work properly if the other station also uses the same ratflector. ?It will also retransmit messages sent to a regular email address if you do not have a regular email account programed for use with your D-rats station. ?We are hoping to get a .com name for the ratflector soon and have contacted the group at ?about that. ?But, for now, it can be accessed as a network connection at IP address 68.185.239.93 with the port set to 9000 and no password at this time.
