I can only see my own station on the maps

Thanks to those working one the D-Rats software.? It's becoming useful again!? Much appreciation.

I got the new Thunderforest maps working.? Looking great.? But I do not see other stations plotted onto the map.? Only myself.? Under the map is a place where I believe it should list all of the other stations that are known to D-Rats, but I only see my own station.? I have looked around to find any setting that may cause this, can't find anything.??

Any suggestions?

That would be too easy.? I have clicked the plus sign...turned on all stations...expanded the tree...I am the only station listed.? Even though I see lots of other stations listed on the main screen.

What RATflectors do you have configured?

If you only have the RAT (main) nothing at all, configure others

Well, now on the k3pdr Ratflector I suppose you will see the other stations on the map ...?I do see you

Yes...I saw you too Luis.? It seems that the K3DPR reflector does show the positions when I "Request All Positions" in the stations list.? When I do that for the RAT (Main) ratflector, I get none.

Also, I notice many stations listed in the stations list, still do not show up on the map after I perform a Request All Positions.? Could it be that all of those stations that do not show up have not entered their Lat/Long information?? If so, a lot of users do not do it.

OK...Thanks, at least I now know that it depends on the ratflector...and RAT gives none.? I need to go check the WA7DRE ratflector (which I operate) to make sure it is configured to share the positions of connected stations.

Put your Lat/Long position into your D-Rates settings OM's!

Hi Randy

?

To my knowledge the request “all positions” works under 2 conditions:

?

- stations shall be connected via radio or a ratflector different from the standard RAT as that has some issue in forwarding positions when requested (I don’t know why, maybe it’s an older version or has some local config?)

?

- the drats version of the remote station shall be equal or greater than 0.3.6 – older versions have a bug and do not reply with the position but only with a short acknowledge message

?

When developing the fix to reply position I was executing locally a ratflector (it’s code remained pretty much unchanged since v0.3.3 ) and it that was forwarding the positions correctly without the need of any particular config.

?

Ciao

Maurizio, thank you so much for continuing to develop the D-Rats application. It's actually an excellent application and when I discovered it I was soon excited by other colleagues from our local club to install and configure it...
But we came across an error that somewhat limits the use of the application - the display of your stations on the Map!
?
Conditions:
I'm using the D-Rats Repeater currently connected only to 2 other repeaters on the Internet network.
However I did tests without the local repeater, connecting D-Rats directly to both providers of the Internet network and the symptoms are the same!
My system is linux buster over Raspberry pi 4; d-rats 0.3.10 beta 3 and Python 2.7.16, GTK 2.24.32, PyGTK 2.24.0, LibXML using 0.5 KB
?
1. when "Request position/Request all positions" is done, nothing appears in the "Event Log" tab and the Map only shows the position of my callsign, however in the ??esrepeater log doing "tail -f repeater.log" with you see that stations that are online report their positions, they are just not interpreted by D-Rats and, as a consequence, nothing appears on the Map!
?
Here is the excerpt from repeater.log attached
?
?
2. I leave here a small suggestion for improvement, if it were possible to implement - sending files in QSTs
?
On my packet radio system I send APRS beacons 10 minutes before the satellite AOS on my locator.
The event generates a small text file with only 1 line. This file is read for example by BPQ every minute and sent to the network.
With D-Rats I couldn't do the same, because when this file doesn't exist D-Rats gives an error!
Will it be possible to make this small change so that if there is no file configured in QST, D-Rats will ignore it and continue counting the time without giving an error?
?
Thank you very much Maurizio

?
