E-mail via D-rats

I need some help/guidance to get my E-mail connected to D-rats.

I have read and search and have not come across anything that has helped.? I have D-rats 0.3.3, and using both Windows 10 with an IC-7100 connected and a desktop and Windows 8.1 connected with an ID-51.? I can send an E-mail from the ID-51 to the IC-7100 with no problem.? When the E-mail gets into the D-rats, it downloads it fine and then indicates that it is “forwarding to username@...”.? Only the E-mail is not passed along.? I have done this trying many variations on the Outgoing setup, both with my Gmail and Bellsouth E-mail accounts

.?

Looking in the DeBug log, ?

[MR] Routing message for WA6QFC@... to WA6QFC@...

I’m at a loss on this.? Anyone have a new starting spot to offer???

It sounds like you have your e-mail accounts set up properly. There is one other step to make your e-mail work properly. Go to Preferences>E-mail Access and give yourself privileges. Enter your callsign and select "Both". I hope this fixes your issue. Download the operators and the addendum from the files section of this group. There are also instructions sheets regarding setting up and using e-mail.
Good luck

I've got D-rats to receive E-mail now, but will not send as yet. ?I checked the 'outgoing' setup and tried several changes. But now it will not even try to send.
I also get this error notice in the 'DeBug' log:

[SMTP] Stopped
---- GUI Exception ----
Traceback (most recent call last):

? File "d_rats\mainapp.pyo", line 643, in __config_changed

? File "d_rats\mainapp.pyo", line 511, in refresh_config

? File "d_rats\mainapp.pyo", line 388, in _refresh_mail_threads

? File "d_rats\mailsrv.pyo", line 52, in stop

AttributeError: DRATS_POP3Server instance has no attribute 'shutdown'

And I have no idea what it means...
Also I have the same 'Incoming E-mail' setup on my laptop D-rats as on my desktop, and while the desktop will receive E-mail, the laptop will not.

Thanks,

Jerry, K4NEA?

If your computer is 64 bit you may have the wrong lzhuf_1.exe

Yes, both are 64 bit.

Can you tell me more about this lzhuf_1.exe???

Ok, I found 'update' lzhuf_1.exe and tried it. ?No change, I restored the original exe file and it's back to as before. ?When it receives Email via RF and/or internet, and makes an effort to sent them out, but cannot.

I will be looking for some junk filter or such on the mail program...

There is a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version.? The 32 bit size is around 28 K and the 64 bit is around 29 K.? You can find the file in Programs/D-RATS/libexec.? Check the D-RATS Yahoo group for more info.

Did some more digging, looks like the file lzhuf_1 that was downloaded with the current 0.3.3 Drats version will work OK on the 64bit system. ?The date of this mod to lzhuf_1 is shown as May 17, 2011. ?So the program was a problem, the operator was the problem.

I had to go the the Gmail web site and change one item. ?It is setting an app level to a less secure level in Gmail. ?After I did this, the Emails from Drats work great.?

So, once again, the program is fine, and the operator needed tweaking.

Tnx for the inputs.

lzhuf_1.exe is the compression routine used by Winlink. The version included in the D-RATS download will run on 32 bit computers. If you have a 64 bit computer, and try to send Winlink mail from D-RATS, you will see an error occur. The fix is to download the 64 bit version of lzhuf_1.exe from the files section of this group and copy it to the directory where the 32 bit version is and overwrite it.?

For K4NEA,

Which setting did you change "for an app level to a less secure level in Gmail"?
