D-RATS app?

Most of you folks are smarter than me, but I got to thinking the other day.
Wouldn't it be neat if D-RATS could be an app on my smartphone?
I haven't played with it much, but Icom does have that RS-MS1A app
that works with a few D-STAR radios.

Any pros or cons of such an app?

Hello Thomas,

D-RATS is written in Python and uses the WX GUI framework which doesn't exist on Google Android, Apple IOS, etc.? As such, it would require a complete rewrite to support either smartphone (I've looked).? Since each smartphone use totally different languages, it would be very difficult to support both main lines:

?? Android: Java is current and the up and coming language is called Go
?? IOS: ObjectiveC is current and the up and coming language is called Swift

A few possible alternatives here would be:

?? - Windows tablet that has a X86 processor in it
?? - Maybe a new Ubuntu Smartphone running linux could be made to work (brand new; unknown)
