Using D-RATS with your radio

The RT Systems blue cable with a 3.5mm phone plug is a cloning cable and can not be used with D-RATS.
The RT Systems orange cable with a 2.5mm phone plug is a data cable and allows access to the low speed data channel.
Instructions for setting up an ID-880 and building your own data cable can be found?here.
The radio settings are similar to most iCOM radios. You have a choice of 4800 or 9600 for the port speed. The only exception is ID-91AD and ID-92AD are fixed at 38400, and the ID-1 is 19200.
Consult the Low Speed Data section of the instruction manual for your radio for more details.

I worked for 6 hrs. on Saturday reprogramming, or modifying the program on the 880H
and getting the "X" Reflector to replace the REF reflector. I had to trace down which old laptop
had the latest updates and then use the cable to get things in place.?
A large part of the delay was finding which old computer that had the right programming information.
The most confusing thing to me is now I can do directly into a repeater?and not use the Open Spot 2.
The XLX dashboard shows me going through the repeater to that reflector. But I guess it is coming
from the repeater to the dashboard. A little eerie if you ask?me. I will get used to it. hihi
I am glad I don't have to rely on the open spot and internet here. The repeater is right across the river and I have permission to use it for the Iowa D-star net on Saturday nights.?

It's in your manual...

the answer is on page 7-15 of the manual, but all I asked for was a simple answer, somebody provided it, 4800 or 9600 baud.

thank you -? Jim k6nra
