Re: Need Help With Icom ID-51
It sounds as if you are sending data, but the first part is missing. First, disable power saving in your radio. Then go to preferences in D-RATS. Under Transfers, enable "Remote File Transfers". Set Warmup Length to 16. Set Warmup Timeout to 0. This will add a delay after the transmitter comes on and before the data is sent. I hope this helps. ? Patrick (N3TSZ) From: "bobmoore1954@... ?
I was trying to chat with a station today through a repeater. ?He was direct into the repeater, I was linked via a DV Mega hotspot. ?On my radio, I had GPS turned disabled and DV Data Tx set to auto. ?On the DV Mega, I had it configured to enable D-Rats. The other station was an Icom 880. I could receive his text just fine. ?But on his end, he could only see my text when the D-Rats program 'raw text' box was selected. ?The text was highlighted in yellow and was preceded and followed by gibberish and something like [EOB]. So we're getting close...but not quite there. ?Can someone give advice please?

Re: D-Rats w/IC-80 GPS Data CABLE
You need the cable with the 2.5mm connector that plugs into the side of the radio. Also be sure to set the radio to Low Speed Data Mode. This includes turning off the GPS function and setting DV DATA TX to AUTO. The port speeds in the radio and D-RATS settings must match. The IC-80 defaults to 4800.
Good luck and 73 Patrick (N3TSZ) |
Re: Getting Problems Fixed
I am running the latest version and have some experience with D-RATS. ?I was hoping that the Winlink connection on MAC OSX worked because we are looking for a solution that works across Windows, Linux, and MAC. ?So far I have not found one. ?D-RATS has a lot of potential. ?

Re: Getting Problems Fixed
D-RATS is not under active development at this time. If you are running version 0.3.3, a later version can be downloaded from?
If you have any questions about the features or operation of D-RATS, I would be happy to answer them for you. Please visit the files section of this group and download "Operating with D-RATS" and the addendum containing the latest updates. D-RATS is in use by many EMCOMM groups and may be the solution you are looking for. 73 de Patrick (N3TSZ) |
Getting Problems Fixed
Is it safe to assume that any problems we find in D-RATS should be considered features as there is no one fixing them? ?Do we have all the source so someone could fix them if they had the enthusiasm and wherewithal? Bob AF9W Looking for a good digital solution for EMCOMM - and still searching.? |
