Unable to run D-RATS after install

 

Just installed D-RATS on my laptop.? I am seeing this error when I try to start the application.

Running WIndows 10, 64 bit. Installed the 64 bit version.

Any suggestions?

Btw.. there are several offerings for a AGW compatible packet program:

?? - Direwolf which runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac
?? - UZ7HO Soundmodem runs on Windows and with Wine, it runs on Linux
?? - Qtsoundmodem - a Linux port of the UZ7HO software TNC

I can see packet exhanges at soundmodem but at D-Rats, scramble.?

I had to set up an account on Outlook to get mine working again.? I think you can do that without having to pay anything, but I am a Microsoft Office 365 subscriber.? I just tested it before writing this and it is working.? Basically, Google has placed restrictions on the use of Gmail connections from what they consider ¡°unsecure¡± programs.? Even though we are using passwords, we may be picking up and relaying mail from other hams.? One of the features in D-Rats allows you, when your station has lost Internet connectivity, to do a mail check through another station.? This basically passes your credentials through the other station to use their Internet connection to check your email account.? Anyway, Google used to allow you to turn the feature off but would go back and reset the thing a few days later breaking the system again.? They now will not allow you to leave your account open for D-rats to access.

Particular interest is IF D-Rats packet mode (AGWPE - soundmodem) could connect with a BPQ Packet Network. The Philadelphia Digital Radio Association have a D-Rats packet functionality but not sure if BPQ.?

Hi all,

I'm still getting to grips with D-Rats and have investigated the WinLink settings. Having clicked on the W2LK option in the messaging section I got a message giving a temporary password and instructions on the URL to log on and set up other details.

So, I did that, set a new password, which I've put into the D-Rats preferences and I've added more details, such as name and address, main email account etc. to the WinLink online settings, but I've never used WinLink in the past so am unsure what it will let me do from D-Rats now?
