Re: Lat / Lon in Weather QST
Make sure you have te minus sign infront of longitude with no space. On Mon, Aug 17, 2020, 20:00 Chuck Farrell <chuckffarrell@...> wrote: I manually entered my Lat / Lon on the Preferences / GPS page as?40.080970??-75.388610 |
Re: Weather QST Problem
No problem. That¡¯s what the group is here for, to solve operation and configuration problems. We want D-Rats to become a recognized useful tool in the Emcomm toolbox. It can only be that if everyone can get it to work. 73

Re: Downloading / Updating Maps
I know the old Maploader no longer works.? The initial setup should provide all the tiles you need for the "base" map assuming you have input your lat and long.? With regard to the other?map types (landscape, opencycle and outdoors), I believe you need a subscription with ThunderForest.com to download the tiles.? My 501 c 3 organization can't afford the steep price for an annual subscription.? It isn't clear to me why such capabilities were added with such a price. 73 de N4VIP, Don On Tue, Aug 11, 2020 at 9:33 AM Chuck Farrell <chuckffarrell@...> wrote: I am running D-Rats 0.3.9 Beta 1 under Windows 8.1 64 bit and cannot figure out how to get / use the map overlays. Downloading / Updating Maps
Chuck Farrell
I am running D-Rats 0.3.9 Beta 1 under Windows 8.1 64 bit and cannot figure out how to get / use the map overlays. I tried running?d-rats_mapdownloader.exe thinking that would do it, but the log shows the error message:? ?File "d-rats_mapdownloader", line 3, in <module> zipimport.ZipImportError: can't find module 'gtk'
Can some one give me the steps to download and enable the maps? Thanks, Chuck W3AFV |
Re: Weather QST Problem
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGlen, that did the trick, thanks. The combination of http and city command no spaces.73, Ron NY3J On 8/9/20 4:02 PM, Glen Strecker wrote:

Hi Jim,
Actually, I deleted the D-RATS-EV folder which is in the Users\userid\AppData\Roaming folder. It contains the d-rats configuration file. When D-Rats doesn't find this file it forces you to go through the settings just as if you were a new user. Fldigi does the same thing if something goes wrong you delete or rename the configuration file and it's like you were a new user. That got the time to count down but it won't send the QST. 73, Ron NY3J On 8/8/20 7:45 PM, Jim McCloskey wrote:

Hi Vince,
Thanks for that information. I deleted the config file and re-configured and now it will count down to zero. I also changed the size to 4096 and when it counts down to zero it still doesn't send the QST. I have to get this working before the net on Monday :-) 73, Ron NY3J On 8/8/20 11:48 AM, Vince Buono wrote:

Re: Weather QST Problem
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI would add to that request that you please select carefully what ratflector you target. People in Alabama and Washington State, don¡¯t care what the weather is in eastern PA. When you do a general QST it is propagated all over the world, creating the same QSO disruption hazard at all ratflectors. Unfortunately, QST takes precedence over reflector specific filters, so the ability to ignore the QST announcements is limited when monitoring more than one ratflector in separate tabs, as well as the clutter that occurs in the main window. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks Don and Ron,
I tried just http no go. I agree not to use a short timer. I usually just send it once during our weekly net. I guess the main problem I'm having is the time isn't counting down for some reason. 73, Ron NY3J On 8/7/20 11:52 AM, Donald Hinsman wrote:

?contact Lee McDaniel at wb4qoj@gmail. com he does this all the time. I would ask that don't run it very often as it fills up everones screen which makes it hard to monitor conversations.? Once every 3-6 hours is suggested. Ron On Fri, Aug 7, 2020 at 11:46 AM Ron via <rwenig=[email protected]> wrote:
