What is the purpose of entries in Preferences/Email access?? ? Do you have to list all stations that will send you an email if you have internet connectivity and SMTP/POP properly set?? I think not.
? And if you are using an RF link, do you have to list all stations that will send you an email via RF? I am not sure?

W4DTO ? ? ? Hi Dan, On POP Mail check to see if your ISP requires security and that you have the correct port. Ports 25 and 110 do not require security. Port 995 requires SSL to be enabled. Also check to see which additional ports you can try for POP mail. it may turn out another Port might be better. It's easy to forget which need TLS or SSL. If your ISP requires a password for POP, you won't get it unless you get SMTP to send the PW first and then after SMTP, it can send POP Mail. These may be linked this way for your ISP. HTH, Ed

John, that is the way I understand it. I believe Ed is on to something here. I changed the rules as (I think) Ed suggested, and I can now send mail outbound! However, inbound is no longer working. Now that I suspect that this is an Email Access rule issue I'm going to play around to see if I can find a combination that works for both inbound and outbound. For now I've got the following on the rats PC
CallSign = W4DTO
Access = Both
Email Filter = {blank}
CallSign = W4DTO-1 (this is the callsign I have on the rats PC)

Just a follow up. I email working in both directions now. I created two Email Access rules on PC #2 (the one that runs the ratflector:
Rule #1:
Callsign = {my callsign}
Access = Both
Email Filter = {blank}
Rule #2
Callsign = {my callsign}
Access = Incoming
Email Filter = {the email address that I have set up in D-RATS on PC #1]
When I added rule #1 I was able to send messages out, but not back in. Rule #2 causes messages that come in to the email address that I specify in the rule to be forwarded to the call sign in rule 2.
I have been sending test messages out all afternoon, and it seems to work without a problem.

I saw * in the docs.?? Will try that.?? It's sending outbound without a problem at this point.? What I'm looking for now is the rule that says, "if an email comes inbound from the internet and it is addressed to xxx@... send it to callsign xyz."??? The wildcard rule seems to be breaking that right now.? But, I've made good progress thanks to the replies on this thread! ? Thanks! Dan ?

I'm having the same problem using the D Rats Client. I get some sort of Boolean error in the Debug Log.
My Pop is set up and I receive email from my Google Drats account. I can not send outbound Internet email (smtp) for example va7kmg.drats@...
I still want to get the Wl2k working as well
I know last year I was able to get it to work using the D rats and Gmail PDF file set up

I’ll provide my understanding of D-RATS messaging (hopefully it is correct).

First, how are you addressing the message.? If you just put the callsign, D-RATS looks to see if that station is currently online to accept messages.? If not,

Responding directly, but for others, here is a YT vid that shows last years drill -- note that the narrator had some terminology off, but still viable as an overview of what we are doing.
