What is CPK-3?

Guys,

It is a FM/MW/SW radio receiver based on the KT-0936M(B9) radio-on-chip. Stay tuned as I am about to receive the PCB tomorrow.

And it is the prototype I built on my Choc board. I'd say the performance is very impressive.

I haven't tried myself. I suppose it is not easy as the IF is not exposed to us.

It is a direct conversion receiver, Jim, so the short answer is, no. You could inject a signal close to it's dial frequency into the AM RF input, but you'd have to chase yourself up and down the bands. The architecture is actually quite similar to the (tr)USDX, with a CPU doing a lot of the heavy lifting. A very powerful chip, indeed!

a more modern version of TA/CD2003 am/fm radio IC. For SSB RX, SI4732/SI4735 is a much better option imho.

Tested OK. Modified a bit and ordered another batch PCB. You can PayPal 9.9 USD each to rongxh@... for the beta kits now, and I plan to ship by tracked air shipping from Dec. 4.
