V for VXOrganic

Folks,

CS-40V kits will be shipped in 2 weeks. Here, V is for VXOrganic. There is no DDS, MCU, or anything else digital. All analog, all organic.

The IF is 8.467MHz and I have improved the pass band flatness with a better impedance matching. Thus, the audio receiving and transmitting sounds noticeably better. Fidelity is sort of organic.

The IF amplifier chip MC1350P is gone. The replacement is also an organic solution, a tiny module of a dual gate FET. If you still have MC1350P in your stock, use it. If not, you can use this replacement solution. The gain is lower, the gain control is counterclockwise, but it is quieter. Using what you have is also sort of organic.

Again, I will do the kitting all by myself, the owner of the business. I can memorize all the parts. No low level mistakes by rookies. That’s another sort of organic.

The packaging is a bubble envelop. The printed manual is removed. You don’t have to worry about the trash disposal. That’s another sort of organic.

Finally, the price is 60 USD. That’s not usual price for organic, but lower price will reach more customers. The price for microphone speaker is 15 USD and the shipping is 20 USD or 5 USD for returning customers.

Yes, you can place order now offline.

Thanks,
Adam

Jim,

Thanks for asking. You can drop me an email or directly PayPal and leave a message to rongxh@...

BTW, the IF for USA is 8.192 MHz instead of 8.467 MHz.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,

Is the?CS-40V similar in functionality to the ALX-SSB that Larry Lovell was selling?

Also, what's the difference in shipping time between the 20 USD and 5 USD costs?

The ALX-SSB adds a digital VFO with Frequency Display to the base kit.? As soon as I receive my first kit, I will build one and test it out with the VFO/Display add on.
The price should be lower that presently shown due to the reduction in cost of the base kit.? TBD.? It will be several weeks before I can verify the radio.
You should be able to purchase the CS-xxV radio from Adam and then add the VFO/Display later once that I have verified it works.
I will be selling the CS-xxV as well as the VFO/Display assuming that this works as well as I expect.? Shipping cost in the US will be $7.65 since I order from Adam and include his cost of his shipping into my pricing.

Hi Larry!

I'm glad you're still monitoring things here, even if it's just a "hobby" now - I kinda got the feeling that was going to happen when we were interacting about the order for my school last Summer!

The kids are doing great with the radios, BTW.? I earned my Technician and General in September, and Extra in November, during testing in Billings.? We established our high school ham club in October as soon as I got my Technician and General license notifications.

Thanks for the update plans on the ALX-SSB and I'll be looking forward to hearing when it will be available.

Glad to hear things are going well.? I should receive the CRK-10A and D2D/FT8 transceivers in about two weeks.? Adam says that three kits with microphones will be mailed out on Monday.
Although these radios do require a General Class license except for some frequencies on CW for Technicians - 7.025 to 7.125 MHz.? If there is anything I can do to help students, please let me know.

Thanks,
Adam

Adam,
it is very interesting the change in the filter configuration. I am
sure we can wait for the updated manual. I hope there will be details
on the changes. As I am now grounded due to Coronavirus, the
simulation of both filters will be food for thought, and an excellent
passtime.
Be well

There is a kit called Rock Mite but I never sold it.? The one that I sold was the CRK-10A at various frequency options.? Adam just found some more parts so it will be available on my website in about two weeks.? I think that this is the radio you are talking about.

I do not have the rock-mite radios.? However, if you need other frequencies, I do have extra sets of crystals that are available for a few frequencies.

Hi Larry,
i still have the CRX-10A you sold me years ago and? perhaps was new on the market.
I used it for?5 years checking into early morning 40 meter nets.
Have not used it for the last 2 years.
I'm looking for the 3 watt China rock-mite and Adam said to contact you

Glad to hear things are going well.? I should receive the CRK-10A and D2D/FT8 transceivers in about two weeks.? Adam says that three kits with microphones will be mailed out on Monday.
Although these radios do require a General Class license except for some frequencies on CW for Technicians - 7.025 to 7.125 MHz.? If there is anything I can do to help students, please let me know.

Shipping cost in the US will be $7.65 since I order from Adam and include his cost of his shipping into my pricing.
is now a Hobby spot and not a full business as it has been before.

Hi Adam,

Is the?CS-40V similar in functionality to the ALX-SSB that Larry Lovell was selling?

Also, what's the difference in shipping time between the 20 USD and 5 USD costs?

Hi Jon,

You can check out the schematic below. The crystals are HC-49S type. As for COV, just stay at home and enjoy some good time.

Thanks,
Adam

I just shipped the first 6 boxes and 1 box to China domestic. The shipping is higher than expected. I have to modify the shipping cost to the following for the following orders:
CS-xxV kit only, regular shipping 8 USD, express shipping 20 USD
CS-xxV kit plus speaker mic, regular shipping 12 USD, express shipping 25 USD

BTW, I have tested the CS-15V output power and spurious. 5 watt for 12.6V and 8 watt for 13.8V. The spurious product is all under -43dBc. CS-40V power is a few watt higher, but the spurious product also meets -43dBc.

Thanks,
Adam

This is the photo album of the first CS-15V radio I built, with modifications, such as power switch, tuning linearity and LPF 2nd harmonic suppression. I already included in the latest manuals in Files section.
/g/crkits/album?id=242888

BTW, I found MC1350P won't work well with this radio, perhaps due to the modification of the IF crystal filter. I will figure out. The replacement module in the kit works just fine.

Thanks,
Adam
