Guys,

I built a 15 meter QRPPP TX this weekend. See this post:

Thanks,

Adam

Hi, Adam

I bought a 20M Pixie from you a little while?ago, and I am finally getting around to building it.

Most components are the same as the 40M version.? However, I'm not sure about the inductors.

INDUCTORS

Please verify my assumptions:

I received a black barrell-shaped inductor:? I measured it as 8.9 microHenries.? I think it is to replace the 22 microHenry inductor (L3 on the schematic)

I received an 84.7 microHenry inductor.? I think for the 20M Pixie, it replaces the 100 mcroHenry inductor (L2 on the schematic)

I also received a toroid and wire, which I assume I will use to create a 0.56 microHenry inductor.? I think it replaces the 1.0 microHenry inductor (L1 on the schematic).? I assume if I can find a 0.56 microHenry inductor in my junkbox I could use that instead?

CAPACITORS

Finally, KC9ON on his web-site suggested for 20m I should "replace C7 in the oscillator section to 92 pF"? However, the only C7 I see on the Pixie 2023 schematic is a 120 pF capacitor in the output section.

KC9ON also says you suggested I change the C2 100pF capacitor to a 47 pF capacitor on input to filter.? Again, C2 on my Pixie 2023 schematic is a 10 mF electrolytic in the audio section.? Which capacitor(s) on the CB am I to replace?? (I also plan to use a 2N2222 for my PA.)

I am OK with replacing the 470 pF capacitors with the 220 pF capacitors you sent me.

If you give me a hint on what capacitors I should put where I will appreciate it.

Thanks very much.? I am enjoying your radios you make.

Hi Gary,

Please follow this diagram to build the 20m Pixie kit. The black barrell-shaped inductor is 22uH.

Thanks,

Adam

Adam,
?
Sorry, but for some reason I can't bring up your attachment to your posting that shows a diagram for the 20 meter version of your Pixie. Perhaps you could put this in? the file section.? Thanks!

Adam

Thanks for the information on the 20m Pixie.? That was exactly what I needed.

Adam,
?
Thanks for the pixie diagram with the changes for 20 meters.? With these values, the AADE filter analysis program shows the filter notch around 35 MHz instead of at the second harmonic (28 MHz).? This is based on an inductor value of .43 uH (12 turns on a 37-6 core).? In contrast, the AADE filter program shows the filter notch for the 7 MHz pixie right around 14 MHz where it should be.? Did you take some measurements of the actual hamronic suppression for the 14 MHz pixie and if so, what were the results?? Thanks again.
