Spacer too short and hole in the box
Hello
I assembled my ADX-S V2 yesterday. I realized that the spacers between the? between the base board and the lower board are too short. The BNC socket is too high, about 2mm distance is missing ?
The hole in the box was created by the corners of the circuit boards
The transportation to Germany was apparently too heavy ?
Greetings Bernd DL3BLA |
开云体育Hi Bernd,Thanks for your feedback. The spacer is truly tight due to the height constraints of the box. And the box is plastic so it is easily broken which I have included in the manual. I will be glad to ship a new box if you wish. Thanks, Adam 在 2024年8月1日,14:02,Bernd DL3BLA via groups.io <b.langner@...> 写道:

Hello Adam
I simply replaced the spacers with slightly longer ones. You could also put washers under the threaded bolts. With the original spacers, the circuit board would bend.?
I don't need a new box, I use the ADX open. Are there circuit boards available, I still have two original ADXs from WB2CBA that I would like to convert or can the original ones be converted to ADX-S VII? ?
Thanks Bernd

开云体育Hi Bernd, Thanks. I will double check my stock this weekend. I am willing to offer an upgrade kit for ADX to ADX-S V2. Please
suggest the content of the upgrade kit. Thanks, Adam 在 2024/8/1 17:02, Bernd DL3BLA via

Hello Adam
You would have to check whether everything can be implemented. I would first use the TCXO and then the 455Khz ceramic filter. Everything else could cause problems because a lot has to be changed in the Area of the Band modules and the motherboard to implement? module detecetion and FT37-43 swapping for the output stage. ?
So for me, the TCXO and the ceramic filter
would be enough for now ?
Weren't there once topics with pictures where you?
the model of WB2CBA rebuilt? ?
and sorry for my translator english

开云体育Guys, Confirmed the problem. The latest BNC connector is about 2mm taller. Actions have been taken:

Thanks Adam—makes sense.

I might also suggest to others the possibility of using medium-strength threadlocker like Blue LocTite (not red — which is permanent) on the existing hardware without tightening down every corner 100%+, which would alleviate a bit of the flex on the upper board. I feel this should work for me; of course, every build could be slightly different. And as the manual says, try to make sure the BNC is installed as flush/flat to the main board as possible, regardless of your hardware.

I found it to be a fun and satisfying kit (especially after I identified all the capacitors etc :)? |
