What’s CPK-4?

I think it will be a 200mW CW transmitter and it will work with any SSB receiver you have on hand, including those Tecsun PL330, 365, 880, 990 and etc. I will ask for permission from the designer in Japan first.

One possibility could be an option where the oscillator is permanently on and only the PA is keyed.?

That could allow use with a CPK-3 receiver or others that don't have their own BFO.?

You will however need to provide some form of frequency offset, eg by switching in extra capacitance in the crystal oscillator circuit. The CAL switch could even be used for that if rewired.?
