Re: 21.060 50mW TX
开云体育Hi Gary,
Please follow this diagram to build the 20m Pixie kit. The black
barrell-shaped inductor is 22uH.
Thanks, Adam

Hi, Adam
I bought a 20M Pixie from you a little while?ago, and I am finally getting around to building it.
Most components are the same as the 40M version.? However, I'm not sure about the inductors.
INDUCTORS
Please verify my assumptions:
I received a black barrell-shaped inductor:? I measured it as 8.9 microHenries.? I think it is to replace the 22 microHenry inductor (L3 on the schematic)
I received an 84.7 microHenry inductor.? I think for the 20M Pixie, it replaces the 100 mcroHenry inductor (L2 on the schematic)
I also received a toroid and wire, which I assume I will use to create a 0.56 microHenry inductor.? I think it replaces the 1.0 microHenry inductor (L1 on the schematic).? I assume if I can find a 0.56 microHenry inductor in my junkbox I could use that instead?
CAPACITORS
Finally, KC9ON on his web-site suggested for 20m I should "replace C7 in the oscillator section to 92 pF"? However, the only C7 I see on the Pixie 2023 schematic is a 120 pF capacitor in the output section.
KC9ON also says you suggested I change the C2 100pF capacitor to a 47 pF capacitor on input to filter.? Again, C2 on my Pixie 2023 schematic is a 10 mF electrolytic in the audio section.? Which capacitor(s) on the CB am I to replace?? (I also plan to use a
2N2222 for my PA.)
I am OK with replacing the 470 pF capacitors with the 220 pF capacitors you sent me.
If you give me a hint on what capacitors I should put where I will appreciate it.
Thanks very much.? I am enjoying your radios you make.

Re: 7010 crystals shortage
Adam, we are going through a vote to change the frequencies on 40m, it may be prudent to wait a while before you bulk up on crystals. South pacific areas as far as i know. Someone else may have more. On Mon, 19 Aug 2024, 12:24 pm Adam Rong via , <rongxh=[email protected]> wrote: Guys, |

I enjoyed how you tied radio into the story. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a great time! 73 de K9CHU? On Mon, Aug 12, 2024, 7:21?PM Adam Rong via <rongxh=[email protected]> wrote: Guys, |

I'm glad you and your family had a great vacation.? With my bad back I could not do the 1400 steps but I certainly could enjoy the great looking food.? I love Chinese food and I'm sure the real thing is much better than our Kentucky restaurants but they are good. Welcome back Adam ! Jim WB4ILP? Re: Summer Vacation August 5-11
开云体育Thanks. I will start vacation later today. As I have prepared some stock, it is okay to fulfill orders for the following: ADX-S V2, CPK-1, 2, 3, 13TR, and R3500 Thanks, Adam 在 2024/7/29 11:25, Jim WB4ILP via

Re: Spacer too short and hole in the box
Thanks Adam—makes sense.
?
I might also suggest to others the possibility of using medium-strength threadlocker like Blue LocTite (not red — which is permanent) on the existing hardware without tightening down every corner 100%+, which would alleviate a bit of the flex on the upper board. I feel this should work for me; of course, every build could be slightly different. And as the manual says, try to make sure the BNC is installed as flush/flat to the main board as possible, regardless of your hardware.
?
I found it to be a fun and satisfying kit (especially after I identified all the capacitors etc :)? |
Re: Spacer too short and hole in the box
开云体育Guys, Confirmed the problem. The latest BNC connector is about 2mm taller. Actions have been taken:

Re: Spacer too short and hole in the box
Hello Adam
You would have to check whether everything can be implemented. I would first use the TCXO and then the 455Khz ceramic filter. Everything else could cause problems because a lot has to be changed in the Area of the Band modules and the motherboard to implement? module detecetion and FT37-43 swapping for the output stage. ?
So for me, the TCXO and the ceramic filter
would be enough for now ?
Weren't there once topics with pictures where you?
the model of WB2CBA rebuilt? ?
and sorry for my translator english

开云体育Hi Bernd, Thanks. I will double check my stock this weekend. I am willing to offer an upgrade kit for ADX to ADX-S V2. Please
suggest the content of the upgrade kit. Thanks, Adam 在 2024/8/1 17:02, Bernd DL3BLA via

Re: Spacer too short and hole in the box
Hello Adam
I simply replaced the spacers with slightly longer ones. You could also put washers under the threaded bolts. With the original spacers, the circuit board would bend.?
I don't need a new box, I use the ADX open. Are there circuit boards available, I still have two original ADXs from WB2CBA that I would like to convert or can the original ones be converted to ADX-S VII? ?
Thanks Bernd
