It is a direct conversion receiver, Jim, so the short answer is, no. You could inject a signal close to it's dial frequency into the AM RF input, but you'd have to chase yourself up and down the bands. The architecture is actually quite similar to the (tr)USDX, with a CPU doing a lot of the heavy lifting. A very powerful chip, indeed!

Hi Hitoshi, Thanks for sharing your work. I have successfully?tested FT8.reception with my homebrew FT8 TRX. I fed audio to ESP32 and wsjtx decoded signals using BT/HFP on W10, but the Pi-4 failed to detect it as HFP. I installed ESP-IDF and Btstack on Pi-4, after which I compiled and uploaded code to ESP32. I Need to modify the code to suit my mono band FT8 TRX based on nano.
