CS-40V kits will be shipped in 2 weeks. Here, V is for VXOrganic. There is no DDS, MCU, or anything else digital. All analog, all organic.

The IF is 8.467MHz and I have improved the pass band flatness with a better impedance matching. Thus, the audio receiving and transmitting sounds noticeably better. Fidelity is sort of organic.

The IF amplifier chip MC1350P is gone. The replacement is also an organic solution, a tiny module of a dual gate FET. If you still have MC1350P in your stock, use it. If not, you can use this replacement solution. The gain is lower, the gain control is counterclockwise, but it is quieter. Using what you have is also sort of organic.

Again, I will do the kitting all by myself, the owner of the business. I can memorize all the parts. No low level mistakes by rookies. That’s another sort of organic.

The packaging is a bubble envelop. The printed manual is removed. You don’t have to worry about the trash disposal. That’s another sort of organic.

Finally, the price is 60 USD. That’s not usual price for organic, but lower price will reach more customers. The price for microphone speaker is 15 USD and the shipping is 20 USD or 5 USD for returning customers.

The new batch KN-Q7A will be named CS-xxV. Here, CS means I will use CS-series face plates, xx means meter band, such as 40, V means VXO version. If you wish to order 40m version, you can call it CS-40V.?

The difference between KN-Q7A and CS-xxV:

• CS-xxV uses the main PCB and face plates of CS-series
• CS-xxV has a LED for TX indication
• CS-xxV uses both B10K potentiometers
• CS-xxV uses MC1350P replacement solution
• Perhaps CS-xxV will have a modified crystal filter design

A week ago, I checked my inventory and found some parts for a few CRK-10A CW transceiver kits. One of my friend in China built a kit and was impressed by the good performance and smooth QSK. And this morning, I just realized that I have replacement solution for MC1350P so I can bring up the much loved KN-Q7A SSB transceiver kit. The initial testing was promising although the IF Gain is not as big as MC1350P.

I don’t know how long I can stay at home before my long time business trip, but I think I can do something to prepare. The old kits will be priced at more affordable point. Let me know if you like the idea. You can check out the manuals at ?to know more about CRK-10A and KN-Q7A kits.
