Thanks guys.

We were able to ship on Feb 10. Among all the shipments, I upgraded two shipments via FedEx.

Thanks,
Adam

Re: D4D mods

From my experience, there are many mods that people are making.? Some better than others.? If you purchase the kit and assemble it with the Rev D assembly manual, things should work very well.? All parts are included in that kit.

Well, you'd better observe the spectrum. In my case, if the capacitor is too big, there is a peak at 1/2 signal frequency.

Sorry...Been away for a bit...Try anything you have between 50 and 100pf...It's not that critical but 82pf would be optimal...Your target output should be 1 watt or so...I'm sure it will do more but you don't want to become non-linear or create unwanted signals...Jim WB2LHP

Thanks Jim, your reply did help.

I have already purchased the Sunfounder open box(it says something about a plastic corner being chipped). I am going to use your setup as a reference for this.

One thing I am eager to find out is if I can find out a way to remotely control the screen of this from another windows desktop. As this is what I am doing right now with a windows tablet with my regular station. The tablet is beside my radio and I use Google Remote Desktop to control the tablet just as if i was sitting in front of it.

It would be really new to be able to store this setup in my storage room closer to an antenna away from my regular one so that it can be ran like you will be doing with solar. I can use a photo switch relay combo to switch either to another battery bank that was charged during the day for night time use or to mains power. I'll have to wait and see.

Well anyway buddy, if you get a chance to make a video of this in operation, and maybe showing a few software shots and maybe some hints on how you got the software all setup would be great. At very least maybe just some footage of the software in action would be really cool.

If not that is fine I am very happy with the info you have already shared. Have fun buddy.

Thomas,

KJ4GK

Re: 2020 new year announcement

Folks,

During Chinese New Year from Jan 21 to Jan 30, I am not able to arrange shipment. If you wish to place big order for R3500D ARDF receivers, you will need to wait until early Feb.

Thanks,

Re: 2020 new year announcement

Hi, Adam!

Happy New Year! And Happy 9th Anniversary of CRKits.com!

These are very good news! I was thinking to order D4D DSB Transceiver Kit and Mini Wire Antenna Kit for a some time and now with the drop of the prices I will do it! Also I am interested in getting? KN-Q7A or CS-series PCBs that you'll offer. I am interested in 20 and 40 m variants. I would like to ask you whether you may send these PCBs together with D4D Kit and Mini Wire Antenna Kit?

I think you are doing a great job for Radio Amateurs and your products are very interesting. When I first entered your web site I was surprised that some of the kits are sold out - especially KN-Q7A, CS-series and Choc Perf Boards. Now with your offer I would have the chance to build one of these kits.

I am a Bulgarian ham, but I live in Albania. I hope you can ship to Albania? I can pay through PayPal.

Folks,

Happy new year!

2020 is the 9th year of CRKits.COM and I am glad I am still active with this side business, although I travel 95% for my professional work.

In 2020, my US distributor Larry will close his web site and only support local customers via his facebook page. I have decided to revisit my pricing strategy and would cut about 10% for all my offerings. Please visit my web store to take a look.

As a gift to my customers, I would offer free main PCB of KN-Q7A or CS-series if you still remember. Please follow this thread if you need one or two piece. Please PayPal 5 USD for the postage. You can also request key parts to ship along if I still have them.

Hello Adam
Happy New Year!

Well all the Holiday gifts are hanging in the closet, I would like to order the 40 meter CrKit for FT8 operation.
Where do I specify that I would like it “assembled” I know you said there is an extra charge. I plan on using PayPal?

Thanks

Re: Replacing BD139 with 2SC1969 or equivalent RF Transistor

Hi Nick,

The biasing would need a little alteration but it should work fine as is. It also depends of course on what tcvr you are altering.
What will get the most gain is isolating the finals from their original supply voltage and increasing that from say 12v to 24v.
Since you are on this forum I expect you are using CRkit products. The spectral output is not great on these products, but they're built to a price point and simplicity.

If you really want to do a good job, dump the original finals and build a daughter board using your silicons.

It's really a chore of diminishing returns, those transistors are expensive compared to the BD139 and although you can push your output a little higher, 12w as I remember, there are cheaper easier options.

Try look for a design you can build outboard, maybe with a push pull circuit or doubled up finals.

Good luck, Nigel de ZL1NAY

You would need a lot more drive to get any significant power out of the 2SC1969, which means adding at least one more stage. It would be easier to drive the 2SC1969 with the existing BD139. All in all, not work the effort.
