D4D: 4th Shipment and Some Test on Raspberry Pi

 

Folks,

Just updated the 4th shipment. Now I have a few kits in my shipping agent so you will get shipped shortly if you order exactly same as the stock kits.

Also, I have played with Raspberry Pi last weekend and I have some preliminary result based on my test with my Elecraft K2. I can remote control with TeamViewer and operate my K2 to snag some FT8 QSO with my cell phone on the go.

This evening first receive! It works well, levels about 60 dB with a magnetic loop on 40 m

David,

Please don’t add amplifier as the output spectrum is not clear due to inter-modulation, so it is a good idea to stay at 1-watt.

It is not normal. I have used several sound cards and they are normally above 40dB, sometimes over 50dB. ?This is my Sound Blaster Play !3.
  1. Can you make sure that you have chosen the correct sound card in software? It is in Setting - Audio.
  2. Can you double check if you have installed the parts properly? If yes, try to bypass the crystal in the front end by a 103 or 104 cap to see if the audio increases.?
  3. Also, if you can decode something, you don’t have to worry too much.

What is your sound card? What is the reading of your audio input in dB? Is it over 30dB?

They had a couple sample units at FDIM in Dayton. When I talked to them, they told me it was in final stages of testing. I think they will not bring the link live when they release the product.
