Add VOX to CS radio to better support FT8
开云体育Gang,The VOX circuit is very simple one like this: I changed 47k to 10k to shorten the hold time. Here is how I modified my radio (actually it is a crystal controlled FT8 radio but you can do the same for your CS radio as long as you change the mode to Upper Sided Band). Thanks, Adam |

Re: Video Upload: Build a Simple RX
开云体育Jim,It depends on the load capacitor of the crystal and the mode. The normal load cap is 20 pF, and if you want to receive SSB, you will need to pick two caps to oscillate on the exact marked frequency. If you receive CW, you will need to oscillate a bit off to give you right tone pitch. In my case, I used 39 and 68 to give 700 Hz lower than 7010 crystal with 20 pF load capacitor. Thanks, Adam

What value are the two caps at pins 6 & 7? On 9:39AM, Sat, Dec 22, 2018 Adam Rong <rongxh@... wrote:

I visited Windcamp last weekend
Gang,
Merry Christmas! I visited Windcamp studio last weekend. The owner makes nice looking antennas and battery packs as well as accessories for FT817/818 and KX3. His studio is much bigger than mine. I like his newly bought JBL speakers. His main dealers are located in EU and NA. His business is going very well over the years. Thanks, Adam |
Re: KN990 flagship transceiver from BA6BF
开云体育Ken,The domestic price is higher than 300 bucks. The eBay seller cannot have lower price than that. Thanks, Adam

Re: KN990 flagship transceiver from BA6BF
开云体育Thanks Rob, you probably just save me $. Seller refused my offer of $300 for KN990 which what I deem it to be worth. Ken ke4rg |
Re: Video Upload: Build a Simple RX
Adam,? Great video, superior than a?detailed paper instruction. Any beginner can made by himself. Dozen of builders are making this simple receiver in Japan. Easier than the MRX-40, QST magazine introduced decades ago,? the simple receiver give us again something we have been forgotten in QRP spirits. Nakajima

Rob
开云体育I bought a KN850 and it has serious problems I can not fix.I figured one day I would find the right ham electrical engineer that would want to play with it... document it.. and fix it. For now.... I use it ONLY as a receiver for kids demonstrations of the ham bands.... which is WHY I bought it in the first place.... to have a compact short wave radio receiver that cost no more than $300 and if the kids trashed it then I would be less upset compared to letting them play with a $1,000 KENWOOD. ? Re: STILL LOOKING
开云体育Hi. Bob ? I have a CRK10-A (for 40 meters) that I made 150+ QSO’s on.? I haven’t used it much in the past year or so because I got into building radios and now have a dozen pieces of QRP gear (I like QRP a lot). ? My radio was also built by Larry:? he added actual crystal sockets to mine, so I could explore other frequencies.? (You do have to open up the radio to change the crystals).? ? Right now the radio has a crystal set installed for 7.033 MHz, and if you want it I will include a second set of crystals for another frequency. ? I’m asking $55.? In the interest of getting it a nice home, I will pay shipping to get it to you. ? Let me know what you think.? If you’d like it we can figure out arrangements. ? 72 de Gary W0ITT ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Hi gang,
while being sick last year much of my ham gear was taken. I really miss the small 3 watt rock bound rig since I had lots of fun with it. if anyone has one collecting dust please let me know if you care to sell or trade. I will be moving to Atlantic City soon so I hope to do better with QRP near the salt water. 73 BOB AF2DX |
