It is a traditional holiday Mid Autumn Festival, or Moon Cake Festival. I made a small project based on the book of JF1RNR, whom I met in person in Japan Ham Fair.
This morning I tested the half watt transceiver in Century Park and successfully logged a QSO with BG5JNT.

Rewind your Mini Wire Antenna
Folks,
There is a thread in an EFHW antenna Facebook group talking about our Mini Wire Antenna. K1RF Steve pointed out one thing that 2T:14T might not be good for a small size toroid, and it is recommended to wind 3T:21T to add inductance to help the lower band like 40m.
I agree with his point and it is recommended that you follow by rewinding your toroid. Also, if you have FT-82-43 in hand, you can consider upgrade by winding on two of them, same 3T:21T, to add power.
Sorry for the trouble caused, although in many of my test SWR for 2T:14T is under 1.5. I believe K1RF’s recommendation is helpful.

D4D receive light only activates during transmit
Hi,
I've built the 20m version of the D4D kit and when I connect it both lights come on then both lights go off after 1 second.? Plugging into a computer I get received signals that are properly decoded and the green light WILL come on along with the amber light when transmitting (VOX activated) but once transmit is complete both lights go out.
Any ideas what I should check?

If you really need to work at 5V, it is recommended to replace 78L05 by a LDO type 5V regulator.

My solution is a dual output (12 and 5V) Li-Ion battery pack similar size of D4D. Let me know if you guys are interested as it needs special shipping. The freight is higher.

Output is 12 9 and USB ports. Cost for this capacity was 64.95 they also have various sizes. The unit is sold by Talent Cell.

Hi Adam,
I did the C5 105 addition in my build. Fortunately the IMD isn't too strong and WSJT-X can decode within 100 of the signals.I got my st QSO at 1235km on CQafter dark here - I'll spread the work about the nice kits and support.

and I remember cjearly now his efforts to introduce for the very first time the AlexLoop in Japan.
By the way, in 2014 Kogure-san from MLA 48 have made a AlexLoop presentation either in Japan Ham Show.

It is quite fast considering it is not express shipping. I visited New England about 10 years ago when I was working for Sun Microsystems Inc. I did visit the HRO store in Salem and enjoyed the visit there.
