TCL blocking port for IP Control
Has anybody been able to use a TCL NXTFrame Model: 55A300W with IP Control on Crestron Home? I signed into the google account to enable the IP control in the settings. I have tried the driver on Crestron Home but it gives the error *blocked indefinitely. When I look at the driver it states that it uses port 6000. I have called TCL and they said its a Crestron issue. I called Crestron and they said its a TCL issue.

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
High blood pressure is dubbed the "silent killer" because it often presents no noticeable symptoms for years while silently damaging blood vessels and vital organs like the heart, brain, kidneys, and eyes. This undetected damage significantly elevates the risk of severe health issues and even death. Earlier this year, I wrote an article on innovative products that were shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). One product included in this article was the Withings BPM Vision, a smart blood pressure monitor designed for accurate and easy in-home use. My latest article goes into much more detail on this potentially life-saving, smart home product. You can find the article here: https://restechtoday.com/withings-bpm-vision-review/ For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: https://restechtoday.com/author/jaybasen/ For these interested in even earlier content that I wrote, you can find it all here though older content has formatting issues due to a transfer from blogspot to wordpress. https://topicsinhomeautomation.wordpress.com/ Thanks

DIN-8SW8-I - can it switch 230v LED light globes
3
Can it a DIN-8SW8-I switch 230v LED light globes?? The specs state the following but don't mention LED globes. The Crestron? DIN-8SW8-I is an 8-channel lighting control module designed to support non-dimmable lighting and fan switching. The module features eight isolated digital inputs, allowing standard momentary switches to trigger events with or without a control system. A single model supports both 120V and 220-240V applications. Each channel handles incandescent loads up to 10A, fluorescent loads up to 5A, and 1/2 HP motor loads[1].

CEN-GW1 and Discovery Tool
Hi All, I just did a TBx Discovery Tool/Remote Search via the local processor and it returned (2) instances of the CEN-GW1 - Same IP and Host name. I hadn't noticed this before. Is this 'normal'?? We're only using it for EX right now; however, I do have two IP-ID entries in it... Ideas?? TIA!

Fire TV (not stick) IR control
3
Hi, I have a client with 3 TCL Fire TVs and I have been trying to control them via IR with no luck. I'm not even sure if they have IR for control, the remote seems to be RF or Bluetooth. There are a few companies that make Fire TVs and I think that they all use the same Amazon Fire remote. Has anyone tried to control a Fire TV through IR or even thru IP with success? From what I see Toshiba, Hisense, Panasonic, Insignia (Best Buy), and TCL all make Fire TVs. I have no problem controlling my TCL Roku TV with the Roku IP driver, hoping the same will go for the Fire TVs. Thanks, David

DishNet just stopped talking to Crestron_Home Projects?
3
Howdo Mates? I've got 2 separate customers saying that they have lost control of their DishNet Receivers, this Weekend. Both Projects have been running for over (2) years. I'm using the IP Drivers, for the Hopper3 & Joey's The Devices say that they are Offline. But the Devices have the Same IP Address as always (they are DHCP Reserved), and they are "Ping-able". Am I alone on this, or is anyone else started getting calls?

Crestron home feedback variable results
Does anyone have a way to have a Crestron home tile that feedbacks numerical or text variable data. Most of the systems I need this feature on have a KNX backbone and the Crestron home overlay adding media functionality. KNX integration has previously been through the TIG CI-KNX driver. This has now been replaced by a 1Home KNX driver that is overall much better and more reliable. The one thing I liked about the CI-KNX integration was that you could create a custom tile to feedback various values, eg, power use or pool pH. Is there an other way to achieve this without SIMPL? I am reluctant to leave a CI-KNX in systems for cherry on top functionality as it seems to cause a lot of instability. thanks Rozza

Sony STR-AZ7000ES: Back To IR?!?!
15
I have hours and hours in to SIMPL with a new Sony STR-AZ7000ES. Did the whole CCD thing, with True Blue, etc. Could not get it to work. Tried STR-ZAxx 1.1 (with Newtonsoft.Json errors, whatever that means). Am I really resorting to IR for this thing?! Is it Crestron or Sony?! Our RTI programmer had zero issues with same unit...2 minutes to get it going. SMH

File /SSH Interface v1.8.1.zip uploaded

#file-notice
The following items have been added to the Files area of the [email protected] group. /SSH Interface v1.8.1.zip By: josh@LiquidPixel <jwinn@...> Description: This is a LiquidPixel bug fix to the stock module in the SIMPL database. That module has a connection retry time set to every 0.05s, which will bring down a CP4 if you try to connect to the console with the wrong credentials (or load a program to a different CP4 for testing, like I did). This version has a retry time of 30s, with a console message that tells you the connection wasn't successful. I also added a "reconnect" input, which just disconnects and reconnects. Help file included.

Water Main Valve Control
4
Hi All, Has anyone found an integratable Water Main Flow valve that you've had good experience with? FloLogic has started to be big in the luxury home market but there's no integration (And it's pricey!) I remember being super excited when I saw the product from Hero Labs at Cedia ~10 years ago, designed by some former Crestron Integrators, but it seems that they got bought and only currently available in the UK, not the USA... Would love to hear peoples' ideas on this...

Directv Control mystery + 3Path IR file - takeover job
2
It looks like I'm going to reprogram a restaurant/bar system with 20 sources and 57 TVs all because some of the source satellite boxes have been changed and they need updated IR drivers but the original programmer has supposedly lost the code - sigh. The system uses the Just Add Power AV over IP stuff I'm familiar with. But I did notice on my visit this morning that there are 8 of the small Directv boxes which only have satellite, HDMI out and power connected but these are all being controlled...somehow. I didn't find any DTV stuff on a network scan and nothing in the IP table. I should have also done a WHO command but forgot to in case there was any direct socket stuff going on that could explain it. But weirdly when I was connected looking at the files on the Pro3 hoping in vain to find the source code .zip file, I did see a .dll called something like DirectvShef. I know Shef refers to the old serial command set you could send through the USB. So really curious how they are achieving control. I thought it might have been CEC control from the Just Add Power encoders, but it doesn't look like they can do that. Any suggestions gratefully received. 9 Dish boxes were removed and in their place are now something called Roberts 3Path boxes. These are for sport content only. I am looking for an IR driver in case anyone has one. On site the remotes there are all bluetooth and paired to each individual box, but the boxes do have IR windows and an IR remote exists, but they don't have one on site. Thx in advance OP

D3Pro maintenance mode
2
Today I open the page of the D3pro software, and I see this tag: Effective March 31, 2025, Crestron D3 Pro software will be transitioned into maintenance mode. For more information, refer to community.crestron.com/s/article/3094. Seems D3pro will be obsolete soon. I didn't thought this will happen, at least for a few years more. In fact the article was lounched since Jan 29 2025.
