Wake On LAN (WOL) Help!

Matt

Hi,

Using the module from Files, (WOL w/ Pinglogic) I can't seem to get my computer to turn on. I've made the necessary configurations in Network device settings, and didn't see anything in BIOS to the effect of WOL.

I have my MAC address entered in the module as this:

6C\xF0\x49\x05\xE7\xD8\x

Is this right?

Help file for module says:

"ENTER MAC LIKE THIS
MA\xMA\xMA\xMA...."

What am I doing wrong?

BTW I'm using UTP Port 12287 on a completely open network.

Thanks,
Matt

Lose the \x at the end.

Not sure why, but the author has a "\x" already preceding whatever you put in the parameter field.

So is the conclusion

\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA

???

Thanks

MA\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA

apparently there's already a leading \x in the module for no discernible reason.

I will then present the following and claim it as my own:

Where V, E, and F are respectively the numbers of vertices (corners), edges and faces in a given polyhedron. Any convex polyhedron's surface has the characteristic that

V - E + F = 2.

Why it doesn't work for me? :)

I can turn on my PC with this -> from another PC, but it doesn't work through Crestron with WOL with Pinglogic module.

The Mac in the module is set to: MA\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA

It's on internal netwrok.

The packet in debugger is: \xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\xMA\xMA\xMA\xMA\...

Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong here?

Thanks.

MA is most certainly not a hex byte, and all of them shouldn't be the same.

No, because the module inexplicably has it embedded in the string.

i have read on a wiki (Wake-on-LAN) you need to sent FF FF FF FF FF FF then 16 times the mac address of the network interface of the computer you want to wake up.

never try it but suppose to work.

i have try to WOL my home computer with success,

works well for me, i'm on a private network, i didn't try it from the outside with port forwarding but supposed to work too.

Well I've got it working, but let's say I turn off my PC and less than a minute try to turn it on with WOL module it works. When the PC stays off for more 5min than I'm not able to turn it on with WOL module but I can turn it on from another PC with wake on lan command line. Strange.

Yes the module sends \xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF at the beginning so it should be ok.

I make the test and i was able to start my computer after 1 hours with
the module find in the files folder of the group.

What is the address you use into your UDP symbol ? I'm using
255.255.255.255 for broadcast.

Wich Port are you using ? I'm using port 7. Every forum i have seen on
the web talk about port 7.

on the Depicus website you have a Wake On Lan Sniffer
<> it works great,
to verify if the command is ok.

\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\xFF\ it's the header of the packet.

\x00\x01\x6C\x0C\xB8\xEE it's the mac address of the computer, and
you repeat it 16 times.

works well for me, i'm on a private network, i didn't try it from
the outside with port forwarding but supposed to work too.
