Upgrading from CEN-RFGW-EX to CEN-GWEXER
I believe that with the GWEXER, there is some sort of config file that theoretically allows for transfer devices from one GWEXER to another.
BUT, I'm quite sure that you will not be able to move the acquirements of the devices from the RFGW-EXs to the GWEXERs... You can determine the RFIDs assigned to each gateway via Toolbox - text console (use REPORT command) or Network Device Tree. Then you'll have to put the GW into Acquire Mode and re-acquire each device. If you have a device map, it shouldn't take a super long time once you get going...Just obviously do only one gateway at a time... Migrating the devices in SMW is definitely the 'Simpl' part of your equation... Others might have a secret that I don't know about... |
Thanks for the reply ckangis. I guess there is no quick way out.? EQ On Thu, Jun 1, 2023 at 10:36 AM ckangis <chris@...> wrote: I believe that with the GWEXER, there is some sort of config file that theoretically allows for transfer devices from one GWEXER to another. |

From what I remember you could only do it once for whatever reason. Doesnt look like that option is even available anymore.? |

Yea they used to have a Gateway Backup/Restore in Toolbox.Gateway Backup/Restore functions are still available in Toolbox. You need to connect to the gateway first (in Text Console, System Info, etc.), and then access it from the Functions menu. (It isn't found in the Tools menu.) ? |
