Sonos integration

 

anyone have luck with the new sonos integration?
i am testing it with a play1, but i can;t get it to work, i placed the Sonos System module all the way up and made sure the name matches. maybe i am missing something? using din-ap3 with 1.501 FW. I enable the debug mode and i get this error on text console:
WEBSOCKET_CLIENT_HTTP_HANDSHAKE_TOKEN_ERROR
play1 is running Version: 6.4.2

the Name of the zone needs to match and the main Sonos module needs to be above the zone module in your program. try that if its not already.
 

If you chose "Living Room" for the Play1 then the module must have Living Room as name. If you download the sample program it shows how to set it up. ?I had mine working in about 10 minutes.

Media Player only has access to Sonos Favorites so if your playlists or station are NOT saved as Sonos Favorites, they're not available.?
 

I got the demo working at my office, but I have zero volume control.

I'm not sure if they state it in the help file but the volume values that it is expecting is 0d-100d. Not sure why they don't have a scaler built in.
 

Ran the demo, no issues
Tried importing it into a different program, metadata and favorites aren't available.
I noticed that the System_Favorites is join 41 on the touch panels, but it's a button embedded in the Media Player object....so...what's up with that?

Anyone tried using the modules outside the demo program?
 

I was only able to get it to work with a hard line Ethernet connection.

I just dragged the modules into my program using alt-y, joined it to the media player object, gave it the right name, used a stepper for start-up initialization and was done. Works perfect from the get go. I didn't know about the demo program until after I was done. Already have 2 customers up and running with their existing Sonos Connects.?

Also of note for those that are not too familiar with Sonos. Make sure your wifi is not set to auto on the channels, If the access point changes channels then it will drop the Sonos and they will take a few minutes to reconnect. It will take even longer if it's one of their surround systems since all devices will need to reconnect.?

That was causing issues with the connection to Crestron... obviously. Sonos has that suggested on one of their support documents. It made a huge difference in a job we just did last week.
 

Also remember the latest firmware on the processor to make this work. 1.501.0103
 

yes, i was able to fix my problem, it was a FW issue, i was running 1.501.0013 and it require 1.501.0103.. they did the old trick of swapping numbers and i felt for it.? :(
 

HI,

Has anyone noticed the transport controls on the media player for Sonos stop working after playing for a while? ?if I switch to another media player source like autonomic and back to sonos they work again?

Hmm, my only problem so far is that while the artwork updates, the channel, artist and song data do not.? They are stuck on the first favorite I played.? I haven't rebooted processor yet.

It happens about after 30 minutes sometimes. ?On 752 and?1052 panels. ? ?I will try to keep it running on Windows Xpanel and see if it happens again. ? When the transport controls stop working, ?it also does not update currently playing title and position time keeps counting up indefinitely. ? ?Maybe a Smartgraphics issue...
 

Are you using processor firmware 1.501.0103? I've seen what you're talking about on a 1052 using a CP3 on version 1.501.0013.
 

Check your panel and processor firmware
 

Hi, ?I have panels and cp3n all on latest firmware. ? I tried again tonight for about 2 hours, ?xPanel on windows had no issues all evening but 2 1052 panels stop responding for 75 minutes based on the position time.

Sorry for being a bit daft, but where can I actually find the Sonos demo? ? I can see the sonos integration modules in simpl but having never used the Media Player application, a demo program would be good!
