Polycom Group Address Book
Hi, group! How?are you doing? I hope this message finds you well. Well, I'm a newbie in this huge world?called Crestron, and today I was on field to integrate a Polycom Group 700 in a system already installed. Almost everything worked fine, but the ADDRESS BOOK (Local and Global) didn't work. In fact, I can see the addresses strings flowing from Group to CP3, but the group module (V 2.5) doesn't spit anything?out through its serial outputs (obviously, ADDRESS BOOK NAME # TEXT). Could you guys give me a tip to solve this issue? Thanks in?advance! |

How are you doing? The IT guy has configured the addresses. I can see the addresses going to Crestron, but for some reason the 2.5 module doesn't put it on its outputs. Smart Graphics are ok, I've tested it using a SIO logic. I've noticed this same issue being reported in other groups, but with no reliabe answers. Also, I typically only use either the local or the global, not both, so make sure your smart graphic (I assume you're using a scrolling list) is tied into the right one.? |
Louis, if you're using the stock v2.5 module from the Application Market, the address book functionality is WAY broken, and that's not the only thing wrong with it. The module hasn't been updated since February 2015 and has for all intents and purposes been abandoned by Crestron. Polycom has made lots of small changes in their API, some of them quite arbitrary, that have made different parts of this module nonfunctional or erratic as the years have gone by. If the address book is the only thing giving you headaches, that's not a bad place to be in, I suppose. I'd suggest running a search in the messages section of this forum, as I know this topic has come up before, and some folks had good suggestions at fixing this behavior. Hope this is helpful!

Hey Brian, thanks a bunch for your kindly reply! I'll do it. In this project the Address?Book is the only gear that needs to be fixed. All the best for you!
