OT: MS OneDrive

Does anyone use MS OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) on a daily basis with Crestron Software? Just wondering if it has the same issue as Dropbox where some people would notice files disappearing during a compile, and then were left with nothing.?

Just looking for a convenient way to sync Desktop with Laptop, with the added bonus of a cloud backup.

Thanks.?

That only happens when you leave it running when you compile stuff.? It's easy enough to pause it...

I haven't tried OneDrive yet, but it looks like it might be getting better than Dropbox et. al. these days, especially the collaboration on office documents etc.

I have used dropbox before, but now moved to ownCloud.
Setup is easy and works a treat!?

Anyone using it? If so, any issues?

Thanks
Thom

I have been using it since February and it has been working great for me. The only reason I ever pause syncing is if I am tethered to my phone. Have not had any weird compile issues. I use it to sync my laptop and 2 desktops.?

I tried using automatic backup systems with managing my firm's code at one point.

IMHO, it wasn't even close to worth it. ?I would much rather use a guided commit system like SVN or GIT.

We've been using an SVN repository structure for over a year now, and it seems to be working very, very well for us. ?We don't have issues with losing files, we don't have to worry about pausing things to prevent file errors. ?I have version control and user control (If someone breaks something, I have a real trace back to the last person that made edits) and we are able to recall earlier versions of the code with little effort.

If you're really gung ho about automatic updates, you can write a bash script and force it to run before shutdown that commits all files to their respective repositories.
