Modbus

 

Hey Guys
I need to control a modbus device with a CP4, but the crestron's modules are not compatible with the series4
Has anyone ?encountered this problem or have a module that works with series4 processors?

Hi,
In what way are they incompatible? ?The modbus processor module creates the checksum for any modbus command and should work with 4-series just fine. ?You may need to swap the two checksum bytes though as the ¡°endianness¡± is wrong.

If you can expand on where you¡¯re hitting problems it¡¯ll be easier to respond more fully.

Not an direct answer to your question but I have talk to modbus systems with a Raspberry Pi using the Python's pyModbusTCP?library.? Modbus is a pretty simple protocol so I would think it would be pretty easy to write a module using just SIMPL/SIMPL+.
 

Do you mean the umc and usp are set to 2-series? Wouldn't be too hard to make them 4-series compatible.
