Insteon Lighting Control

I am having a hell of a time trying to control some insteon lights. I attempted to use the lighting and thermostat module in the files section but it does not seem to compile in a 3 series program.

Is there a better way to control Insteon lights with Crestron. I? have read that some people use the Hub or an ICY but have not seen any modules.?

I have my CP3 talk to an ISY through REST commands. This allows me to control Insteon devices and scenes. I am also able to get some status feedback via query commands. Not very pretty, but it works sufficiently well in my modest setup.

Would you be willing to share any of your setup? I had a full Insteon house with an ISY controller before I started working with Crestron and now I¡¯d like to integrate the two, but I¡¯ve never had the time to dig in.

Do you have a file that I can use as an example?

Michael and Julio;

Hmm, I could try to create a smw file with an extract of the ISY content.
Is there a way you can maybe message me your email addresses to send it to?

Again, fair warning, it is not pretty, but rather brute force, in particular the feedback portion: I have assigned variables to each scene in the ISY. The Crestron then parses the feedback gibberish the ISY sends when queried :-)

My email is Julio@....

Thank you for letting me take a look.

Im still trying to get it working with the SmartLinc serial interface but its not working for me.

@Julio - email sent. Hope you find it helpful.

Other things I found I didn't know about! There is AMX code running around to program Insteon:

Sorry to reply to a dead post. Just trying to add this stuff so if someone looks for it, it's out there!

If you use a 1st gen Insteon hub, you can issue commands thru the network.
If you have a Serial PLM, you can communicate with a Processor's COM port.

I have not done this myself, don't have the patience to set it up!
