How AreYou Doing Commercial Templates or Frameworks

I've always struggled with my commercial templates as each system seems to vary drastically. Resi frameworks are simple. I have 90% of my program written before I even start using A/V, lighting, secirity and HVAC crosspoints.
I've tried using similar methods for commercial projects however every other project has a significant variation such as divisible modes, reinforced audio along with audio conferencing, Capture devices, Video Conferencing with 3 displays, video walls etc.
How do you deal with commercial frameworks and UI standards? Do you take the closest program you have and cut & paste or use multiple templates?

Every program I do is started from scratch, unless it's a (close) duplicate of an existing room/system type for the same client.

I'll copy and paste section of logic as appropriate but I've always felt that there's too much room for things to get missed/misconnected, etc. to do the "save as" game -- I also feel like that encourages vestigial crud to build up, e.g. logic that has nothing to do with this system but gets left behind because it came from some "upstream" system -- and will only serve to frustrate either myself or a future programmer who is trying to troubleshoot/add/maintain/revise the code.

+1 on that. I usually start completely from scratch and copy paste pieces of code from other programs if it's applicable (if it's something I find I'm using more than once I'll probably put it into a module just for ease of use).

Hit send too soon. I should qualify that a bit more by pointing out that I've pretty much *never* had a project that COULD have been copied/pasted from a previous one...
