Extron dmp128 #simpl

I'm implementing the DMP 128 plus module for the 1st time and I'm not connecting to the device.? IP table shows device as online. ? Debugger shows a reply from the DMP that says "password:" I'm sure someone here has seen it before and has a quick answer that can prevent me from spending hours researching and calling tech support.? Thanks in advance.

Hi Scott,

are you using port 22023? Or port 23??

23. And I've followed instructions posted in previous discussions.? I've got an oscillator pulsing verbose 3 every 30 seconds.? I don't know if that's necessary.? The posts were from 2018, so could be outdated info.??

Try clearing the password. So there¡¯s no password to log onto it. Then unplug the power and plug back in. That usually works for me?

You need to send something regularly to stop the connection dropping out but from vague memory I had issues from overusing sending verbose3 so I just send that after connection.
There's a general query command "I" that can be sent instead and minutely is frequent enough (I think it might drop the connection after 3 mins - assume 2:59!)

Password needs to be set on all extron devices now, it is the serial number of the unit

You can also change the timeout to a very long time on the Extron device.

@Andy, I know the password for the device.? That's not the issue.? The issue is the password is preventing the VC-4 from communicating with the DMP (At least that's my theory).?

I'm fairly new to the game, and still don't know all the tricks.? Is there a way to set the processor to remember passwords of various devices?? Also, I'm using a VC-4, running SIMPL program.? It's my 1st time programming a VC-4.

I had a dmp64 recently. To get it to work i did the following:

?

The first string the dmp sends after connection ends with ¡°password:¡±

Then you have to send the password.

Then you get a reply that you have logged in as administrator or user.

Then you can start sending the verbose mode and strings (e.g. ¡°I¡±) to keep the connection open. In my case the connection dropped after one minute and I haven¡¯t changed this in the settings.

?

Kind regards / Met vriendelijke groet,

?
