Does such a thing exist? #hardware #offtopic

Something of a minor irritant...
?
HD-TXC-4KZ-101-1G
DM-TX-4KZ-100-C-1G
etc.
?
Crestron has nice looking decora products but they stick ugly green Euroblock/Phoenix contacts on the front of the device, which stick out like a sore thumb and are unprotected if unused as part of a system. They used to make a version of the DMLite without the control ports.
?
Does anyone manufacturer a black/white semi-flush cover plug for the IR/COM ports on HDBT transmitters? Any other recommended solutions to this annoyance?
?
Architects already hate that they can't get stainless steel, can we make them hate us any less??

I'll talk to my 3d printer guy; I'm going to see him anyway either tomorrow or on Friday, and I can tell you what he says about that. Shouldn't be too expensive if you (or, more importantly, the architect) don't find that type of solution ugly. I'll ask specifically about available filament colors and possibility of shiny (or not-so-shiny) finish.

Mh, I don?t completely get why you would see any of these (not the Phoenix contact blocks but the whole devices) after installation. Am I missing something here?

?

Cheers,

Thorsten

We specify these into commercial projects. A K-12 classroom is a typical example where the exposed ports are quite undesirable for many reasons.

Thorsten, they are wall box devices. So they are exposed like a power outlet or wall switch. They have the phoenix connections on the front which arent aesthetically pleasing to anyone.

Got it now! I was thinking about room boxes, not the wall box devices…

?

Sorry for confusion.

Hello;
?
I spoke with my 3d print guy. He said he'd charge me EUR50 for initial model development and afterwards it would cost under EUR5 a piece. He said he can also do them in such a fashion to be modular, i. e. covering 2, 3 or 4 consecutive pins so you could 'mix and match' for various front panel configurations. He can do black or white, no problem, with a ~1mm minimum thickness for the cover plate. This is mostly governed by the white filament, as we don't want the plate to be so thin that it becomes transparent. Finish can be 'grainy' or shiny/smooth.
