DM 16x16 Audio Not Passing Consistently
#programming
Hi all,?
?
I am having significant issues with a DM chassis that won¡¯t consistently pass audio from windows PCs when swapping applications sending audio. User plugs HDMI into the Dm endpoint and can send audio out of power point, but if the Alt tab to a web browser and try to send audio from a source like YouTube no audio passes out of the Dm chassis. Audio can be restored a few ways, deselecting and reselecting the HDMI embedded audio output on windows, changing the input compensation on the DM input card, changing the DAC level on the output card. This is the same across multiple input/output cards and laptops, unrouting the signal in the DM signal and rerouting it.?
Here is a concise signal flow.?

Check if windows has selected 24bit depth. I have had multiple issues with 24bit audio, more specifically with multi channel audio (also check your EDID to make sure it is 2ch audio for commercial environment). Why are you using -DSP cards in commercial? If you don't need any multichannel audio, take the card out and remove the DSP daughter board (4 Philips screws and pull out) - this will downgrade it to non DSP card. Might do the trick. Do at your own risk! I have done it, but obviously will not be responsible if something goes wrong. Let me know if this works as I have been trying to find ideal conditions for the DSP cards, now that they are discontinued, there is no point of bothering with TB.
