Has anyone heard of the status of Masters 2020 now that the Coronavirus has taken over?

It¡¯s still almost a month off. I¡¯d expect a potential cancellation to happen about 7-10 days prior to the event. Just look at SXSW which was cancelled 8 days before... sucks though... I¡¯m really looking forward to Masters this year... let¡¯s hope this whole corona circus blows over before Masters...

So who else is planning to head to Orlando either way? ?We built a family vacation around this and some elements are non-refundable.... ?at least kids don¡¯t get aren¡¯t getting sick with coronavirus?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's cancelled. Way over 1000 people from both North and South America... It's a bit risky.?
But, yeah that would suck. I'm really looking forward to HTML5 class.?
If cancelled, they should do it online. Whole class....

I really hope they don't cancel.? My airline tickets are non-refundable and already purchased. Not to mention, that it's been 3 years since I last attended, so this makes this year my "mandatory/compulsory" attendance in order to stay a CSP.? If they cancelled, I'm not sure what that would mean for us certification holders that NEED to go to satisfy their 3-year rule? Online wouldn't be too bad, it wouldn't be great to sit through 3 days of WebEx or what ever, but at least it's something.? I was also looking forward to HTML5 class and Simpl# classes. -- Jason Mussetter

If they do check with your airline I got an email from AA saying they are waving a bunch of fees for changes due to the virus all the way to Jan 2021
Also I'm sure crestron is not going to revoke your certification if they decide to cancel / reschedule masters.

My employer and my family are already asking regularly about this, so I emailed Crestron this morning. To their credit, they replied very quickly, however, it felt a little heavy on the marketing. They said they are still planning on holding Masters as scheduled and made a point of mentioning how they have even sold out this year! (their exclamation point, not mine...)? For those in the position of losing their certification, they did say they are making an exception this year so that those affected can view the videos online and take an exam regarding the videos. I would imagine this would fulfill the CSP requirement also, but I would encourage everyone who has specific questions to either reach out to Crestron directly or hit up the answer ID mentioned above to see if they'll add to it.

If it does get cancelled and they do end up doing some kind of "Online Masters", I wonder if they will open back up registration for those of us that weren't able to make it down to Florida. Wasn't gonna make it this year (not by choice) so would be nice if we could get in on it.?

As of yesterday most major universities in Virginia had made few decisions that will effect this for us:
- spring break had been extended.?
- in person classes cancelled and moving to remote online classes
- all university sponsored travel is suspended.?
So no Masters for me this year. There are some people I know that will be effected by this, and other states will probably do the same soon...?

I wouldn't be surprised if they are waiting to see how many people cancel by the end of this week before making their decision.? I'm pretty sure I'm cancelling my trip, because I'm too busy right now to risk getting sick and/or risk getting quarantined in FL.

We just got a memo from our HR department this morning that says they are suspending all attendance to conferences, trade shows, or any event with a mass gathering. So, it looks like the decision has been made for me. With the cancellation of so many tech conferences and trade shows, plus all the travel restrictions, I'd be kinda surprised if this one doesn't go the same way. I do hope to see some sort of an online option or rescheduled dates, because I had been looking forward to it.

When hurricane Sandy rolled through NY/NJ a few years ago I busted butt to get to NJ the day before masters (I think my first 6 flights wound up cancelling) only
to find out that they made the decision to cancel as soon as I turned on my phone when flight #7 landed -- one of the last ones before the LaGuardia closed and I wound up driving the rental car straight back to Cleveland.

Hopefully this time they¡¯ll make a definitive go/no go call before people start converging on Orlando.

Personally I think its all way overblown hype.? I'm looking forward to Masters and hope that one sick person doesn't shut it down like the NBA.

All universities and colleges in Michigan have moved to online classes and have cancelled travel as well.
i see this¡¯ll increasing as a precautionary measure. ?So I think there will be a significantly increase in cancellations at The last minute, I hope they put out some official updated communication with plans and contingency sooner than later. ?At least 10 days in advance, so I¡¯ll give them a few more days
