Crestron app - viewing camera remotely

Hi,

We have a HIKvision NVR and several cameras in our project. We have managed to integrate/ view the cameras via the Crestron App on an iPad locally. However the Crestron App can not view the cameras remotely.

We entered the URL of the camera to the Embedded video.

how can we view the cameras remotely via the Crestron app?

Thanks.

You need to call video stream at your remote IP. Of course, the IP port of the stream has to be redirected on the router.
Best situation is a router with NAT Loopback function. In this case always use remote IP (or Crestron dyndns name).

how can I get the remote IP of the HIKvision camera? anyone has experience with this? what's the URL format?

thanks.

Is it possible to remotely playback from hikvision nvr via crestron app? How?

The camera has an IP address on the LAN, that you use for the app in house. ?You need to either:

1. ?set up a VPN, then tell the user to turn on VPN (easy find in iPad settings) to view the cameras.
or
2. ?set up a port forward for each of the cameras addresses, then access them via [WAN address:portnumber]. ?This can cause issues while in the house if your router does not like loopback.

The VPN option is way easier, if your router supports it.

will it be possible to use mycrestrondns for the NVR?

yes, if you have it on the processor or in your program. ?Then open the ports need on your firewall.

i am able to stream directly from the camera locally with the crestron app. ?however i cannot stream from the NVR locally and remotely. how can i find the address/ url of the NVR to stream the different channels?

i cannot also stream remotely from the NVR and directly from the camera.

i'm using a HIKVISION NVR. anyone has experience with this?

hi all,

need help in viewing of Hikvision camera connected to hikvision NVR from Crestron APP remotely.

do i use HTTP or RTSP?

MJPEG or H264?

thanks.

Either will work.? I point the Crestron App directly to the individual camera URL.

i tried using the URL:

rtsp://<username>:<password>@<dnsname>.hik-online.com:10554/Streaming/channels/102

but it does not work. what could be wrong?

i am able to view the camera remotely through the iVMS mobile app (Hikvision) with no problem.

client wants to be able to stream from Crestron App as well.

Hi! i already used it with RTSP Configuration. Inside vision tools i used MJPEG Viewr! It's works very very good

Hi,?

Can i get your exact configuration For camera and vtpro? What camera are you using?

Thanks!

Hello, can you see them locally?
if yes.. try to forward ports to oyour cameras, using the RSTP ports as engine...

What do you mean exactly? Your triggering the rtsp stream in SIMPL but using the MJPEG window in VTPRO? I don't believe you can do that... RTSP is the h.264 window.. I have yet to see an rtsp stream work reliably in Cretron app.

Regardless of HTTP or RTSP the ports need to be forwarded (and probably customized) to view remotely, or using the NVR output stream if it has one.? A VPN would be the secure solution, as you will be opening up a bunch of ports?

Yes. But I'm wondering how get an rtsp stream to pull up quickly in the Crestron app. I've only seen MJPEG pull up quick. RTSP is super slow, 15-30 seconds, sometimes never until I refresh. What logic are you using?

You need to setup the RTSP stream so it loads more quickly on the app.??Answer ID: 5195 has information regarding this and setup info for specific cameras they have tested with.? Most of the projects I've done have no problem pulling up an RTSP stream in 2-4 seconds on TSW panels or the app.
