Android App
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? just read the EOL announcement in the newsletter. Is it just me or isn?t there any Crestron Go app (which was mentioned as the replacement in the newsletter) in the Playstore?... The link to the Go app in the newsletter goes directly to the old app on the Crestron site¡ ? Cheers, Thorsten |
I'm not sure about the newsletter but from what I know, the EOL was for Crestron Mobile Pro apps, which are pretty old. The Crestron App for Android was the replacement SG version of the app since 2014. It's confusing because the Crestron App (for Android) and Crestron Go are really the same thing.? Both Android and iOS versions were once just called "Crestron App for Android/iOS" but there was a SNAFU with the iOS version where they had to change the name when it was removed from the app store from Crestron App to Crestron Go. Maybe the android version should be called Crestron Go as well to remove any confusion. Here's a link for you.?

Maybe the android version should be called Crestron Go as well to remove any confusion Apple imposed Super Retina support on all new apps & updates around July 2020. That deprecated and removed Non-Retina CApp-iOS from AppStore. Retina version (orig CApp-iOS v1.05.63) was then re-released as CGo-iOS to prevent possibly affecting existing CApp-iOS v1.05.50 systems with new scaling behaviors. The 64-bit Android version planned to release ~Q3/Q4 2023 will be called Crestron Go. This will allow x64-only devices like Google Pixel 7 (Pro) to run Smart Graphics, and address recent issues with Google Play Store unavailability of apps that haven't been updated in ~2+ years.?? |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý?Dave, tell your bosses that this is the fundamental problem with Crestron in the last 4-5 years...Their inability to deliver solutions and fixes in a timely manner. ? Exactly. The EOS-email from Crestron from May 15th states that the Android App is not available anymore effective May 15th and the Crestron Go App for Android (Tablet and phone version) are stated as a replacement. How can it be a replacement if it?s not available? ? Thorsten ? ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von ckangis ? On Sat, May 20, 2023 at 12:47 PM, Dave H - Crestron TS wrote:

Last week I have a call from one client, he was still using the Crestron Mobile Pro G in his iPad. He had reinstall the iOS (I don't know why he couldn't make a restore from a backup), and when he try to download the Pro G is no longer available in the appstore. I check it out in my iPhone and in my iPad and neither.
So now I gonna have to tell him he needs to buy another app and? remake VT Pro project to the new version??? I can't believe this. |
Mobile Pro G is still available if you already own it.? However, it is not available to new users.? There is a Crestron answer ID that has the procedure to download it.? It won't show up in the Apple App Store but if you click the user icon in the upper right corner and go to Purchase App section, you will have a cloud download link you can use.? At least that is what I remember when I did it.
