Lutron QS Control from 4-Series Processor

Hi Group,

I need to control some shades and lights from a Lutron QS system. I'm using a CP4 with the QS r04 modules and from what I understand you can no longer use telnet on 4-series processors. My question is what's the best practice or work around to control a Lutron QS system over IP going forward?

Thanks in advanced!

I still only using 3 series.?

But the lutron modules work via a tcp client in simpl. If telnet doesn¡¯t work in 4 series I think that will mean it won¡¯t accept incoming telnet connections to the processor on telnet. But you should still be able to setup a tcp client on port 23 in simpl as an outgoing connection to lutron. ?Once the client is connected communication is bidirectional?

It's my understanding that inbound Telnet to the 4 series is disabled, but the 4 series can still initiate Telnet communication with 3rd party devices. I haven't tried it with the Lutron QS modules, but I did use it to talk to a Datapath processor.

Lutron qs works fine on 4 series

Thank you, for the conformation and all who replied.

some newer firmware of QS-NWK-E require login and passphrase over telnet.
You might be running into this.
