Crestron App project on PC
开云体育Hi, ? i?ve got a client with an Android tablet with the Crestron app installed for controlling his home cinema room. This works pretty good since a couple of years now. However, the client is concerned about the tablet dying at one point in time and is asking about an emergency fallback. For standard touchpanels, this can be easily solved by just installing XPanel and loading the corresponding touchpanel .vtz file. However, for a Crestron app project, this doesn?t seem to exist. ? Any idea how this requirement could be addresses with the least effort? ? Thanks, Thorsten ? |
In VTP, just do a 'save as' on the project as an 'xPanel 2.0 Smart Graphics' (Not the WEB version).
On the main properties, you can set the processor IP, IP-ID, etc. and just give him the .vtz that is inside the '.c3prj' folder which is generated at compile. He can put that on his desktop, double-click and up it will come... Although you could use the same IP-ID as the Crestron App, you should update the program with an xPanel 2.0 Smart Graphics device, with it's own IP-ID. this way they're independent and you'll have no issues... Prior to this he'll need to install the Adobe AIR desktop device, see these links:

I seem to recall that XPanels won't connect to Crestron App IPIDs and vice versa the way they will with TSW panels.? May be wrong about that, but I would create a separate IPID for the XPanel. 开云体育Thanks for the information, guys. I?ll add that into the program. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von Slip Cougan ? Correct Jeremy.? |
The above is probably the right way to do it.? As an aside, when you run an app project from VT (hitting the teal play triangle in the tool bar) it creates an xpanel in the user's temp directory.? You can copy that file to your project folder and run it like you would any other xpanel.? In testing I have always been able to use this as an xpanel to the app IP ID and have never seen an issue.? Again, the more proper way would be to do a save as and create an xpanel.? Typical temp path:?C:\Users\##user name##\AppData\Local\Temp

Not sure about the XPanel Web project, but if you use the Non-Web version, The Connection properties (IP-ID and Processor IP, etc.) are hard-coded in the project... |

This only works if SSL is disabled. There is no way to enter the un & pw for an XPanel. Please, please someone prove me wrong! -s |
