Carrier Infinity Thermostat Control through Crestron

Has anyone integrated a Carrier Infinity thermostat into crestron, since they have removed the SAM boards?? In the past we were able to control these pretty easily through RS 232, but I am being told that the SAM board that allowed that communication is no longer being manufactured.? The new method of integration, is through Carriers cloud service.? I just started digging around and talking with carrier tech support to see exactly what the process is, or if it is even possible. They are supposed to be sending me some documentation, but I have yet to see it.? If anyone has done this successfully,? any help would be greatly appreciated.? Thanks in advance.??

I received some documentation from Carrier, but it is just how to sign up for a developer account and get the information needed to create a control interface.? It looks like there is currently no means of controlling these thermostats via crestron until a module is developed by someone smarter than me.? Let me know if anyone else has some more information or if mine is incorrect.? thanks again.??

I wonder if Cool Automation has an interface??

We are working on a solution. We do not have a firm timeline for release, but progress is being made.

?

There are some architectural choices that definitely make it more involved than one may think on first glance. There are also some behaviors that differ a bit from how you might expect a traditional thermostat integration to work.

?

If you drop us an email at support /at/ controlworks.com one of my colleagues can update you once a module is closer to release.

Hopefully Lincoln your modules will be a bit less buggy than the old App Market ones for the SAM we have been using for years.?

Any progress? There are quite a few new Carrier Infinity/Bryant Evolution systems out there (which are exactly the same, just different paint and labels), waiting to be integrated with Crestron...

Has anyone made any progress on this system?? I looked into it a few months ago and it looks like ControlWorks has abandoned their project.? Not sure if it is even worthwhile to start dev on this thing or just tell the homeowner they are going to lose variable fan speeds and put in a Crestron thermostat.

I can confirm that we have discontinued development on this project, due to factors outside of our control it would not have been supportable at the standards that we require for our products

?

The biggest items were difficulties obtaining developer support and, very high latency (if I am recalling correctly, an average of around 5 minutes between the time an adjustment was made on the thermostat and the time it was reflected in the API calls), the need for a recurring subscription fee, and other issues that we felt ¨C although we were on the edge of release ¨C made the product not commercially viable for us, and we felt a bad fit for our integrators.

?

(I am happy to report that some of the lessons learned with OAUTH2 integration made their way into our Genie Alladin Connect/Overhead Door OHD Anywhere offering which can be found at or , ?which also has very fast feedback¡ªsometimes faster than the app itself) ?
