Simpl+ preference issues

 

New laptop time, fighting with getting Simpl+ setup. When I first launched it I was able to change my font, colors, indenting, etc... Now, I cannot change anything in settings. The ¡®Apply¡¯ button is always grayed out. If I hit ¡®OK¡¯, none of my changes take. Also the software will not acknowledge my creation of my standard Simpl+ template. Meaning I create the template like normal, then when I try and create a new module, it just pulls open the Crestron default.

I have admin rights on this new machine, I¡¯ve even tried ¡®run as administrator¡¯ when installing. I¡¯ve used master installer as well as installing manually.

Ive tried uninstalling all Crestron software and deleting AppData Crestron folders, but now when I reinstall, it is rememberers my last altered preferences (not the OOB preferences). So I¡¯m not sure where Simpl+ is storing that file, but I have a feeling that might be screwing with me.

Any thoughts?
P.S. I¡¯ve started a case, but have not gotten anywhere with TB as of yet.
 

Sorry to ask, as i just had the same problem....... Did you right click and run as ADMIN???

Josh, the first install I did not, the second time I did. No difference for me. You had the same issue but fixed it?
 

I also had this problem and the above comment was how I fixed it previously.? Even though I had installed as admin.

Gotcha, run as admin. Seems to kinda work, though the ¡®apply¡¯ button never goes live. Stays grayed out even after changes. Maybe this is a software bug.
 

I've had the most luck drilling all the way down to the executable in,?C:\Program Files (x86)\Crestron\Simpl, and then finding each .exe file, right clicking on it, going to properties, choosing compatibility, and then at the bottom checking "Run the program as administrator". I do this for VTPro as well. Just running the desktop shortcut doesn't run the underlying file as administrator.
 

On any new machine I¡¯ve always gone into program files -> Crestron, searched for *.exe, then made every single one of them Run As Admin. Also don¡¯t forget to install S+ cross compiler.?
