2 CP3N on different VLANS with control subnet ports connected to
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNo. You cannot disable the DHCP server on any 3-series processor with a Control Subnet. There are several things ¡°under the hood¡± that depend on the DHCP server to operate correctly. ? You can, of course, disable the DHCP client on any processor for the LAN port and assign a static IP for the LAN port. ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? From: Crestron@... I think however that you can disable the DHCP server in both CP3Ns and give them a fixed IP. Get

"You can, of course, disable the DHCP client on any processor for the LAN port and assign a static IP for the LAN port." <ding> <ding> <ding>? And the correct answer goes to...(no surprise)...Lincoln!!! Seriously - PUT CRESTRON DEVICES ON THE CONTROL SUBNET AND PUT *NOTHING* ELSE ON THERE.? Do not bother trying to change any settings on this port - it automatically configures itself so it can be ignored. If you need two processors to talk to each other, find a way to bridge a link between them on the LAN port. Third party devices that need control over IP should also go on the LAN port, unless you can beat up someone at Crestron to give you clear answers about the USB-LAN third-port option.? I've been pounding on a person pretty high up on the chain for CLEAR answers on this piece, and they haven't come up with them yet.? :( ? - Chip |
I have actually used the SW-USB-ETHERNET license several times, and it works just fine, as long as you don't try to define a gateway in the IP config for that port as well. I can't comment specifically about dealer cost on that part, but in terms of procedure, answer ID 1000009 does a pretty okay job of laying out the configuration steps. What it doesn't go into is the steps to obtain the license from Crestron. To do that, you'll need to email your Crestron PO#, the processor hostname, and the system key obtained from within the License Management section of System Info to license@.... They usually turn around the license key within an hour or so.?
We've used the Crestron-recommended Portsmith?PSA1U1E and?PSA1U1E-E USB-to-Ethernet adapters with success in getting this feature working.?I'm not sure what info you're looking for specifically about this license, but our technical rep, Ken Box, was very helpful in getting us the info we needed to get it working. In fact, he's the person that clued us in to the existence of this license as an option in the first place. |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPlenty of sources on Google Shopping: ? Note that that¡¯s definitely not the only option to add USB to a Crestron processor ¨C any USB-Ethernet adaptor with the proper chipset should work ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]
