Seized fan

Anyone know what voltage the fans are in a Qm-MD7x2?

I am unable to pull the unit out and see what's inside as it is in operation and I will need to order out of town to get replacements. One of the fans has seized and the other is noisy so everything is still working for the moment...

TIA

Chris

I don't know for sure but would guess it's a 12V DC fan.? Are you getting a error because of the seized fan?
If so, you will be looking for a 3-wire fan (2 for power and 1 for sense).? If just a visual observation it will most likely be a 2 wire fan.? Not sure if you can tell what physical size the fans are from the outside but if you can. Radio Shack stores do have a selection of fans that you could choose from.? Also not sure if your fans connect to the main board with a molex connector or directly soldered to the board.? You'll need to save the molex so bring a soldering iron and small shrink tubing.

apologies for the delayed response,
No errors in the system at the moment, I suspect along with you it is a 2 wire 12v fan.
Nothing for it but to get a couple of 12Vdc fans and see what I can see!
Biamp for some reason use 5V fans and I always replace them with the quietest MagLev fan I can get.
But because the Crestron products use an external 24Vdc I would assume any fans would 12V - but you never know?

Cheers

IIRC The TPS-G-TPI uses 5V fans ¨C but I can¡¯t find the photos I snapped when I needed to replace them in mine and I¡¯m not about to tear it apart again tonight ;)
