Error: CConsoleListenSocket::AcceptConnection: unable to disable Nagle algorithm

I am seeing a lot of these errors in my log. What does this mean ? They seem to occur about once a minute. Very annoying.

Yes i know what the Nagle algorithm is, but why is the Pro2 using it and why does it need to disable it ? AND why can it not disable it ?

What devices do you have configured in your program on the Ethernet interface?

Hi Chip,

Thanks for responding.

I removed ALL the ethernet devices and removed the networktime sync and it still does it. Exactly once a minute.

Really annoying.

Maybe its time to ask trueblue cuz i have no way of knowing what this error means or what to diagnose.

Why in the world something on crestron would need to disable the Nagle algorithm and then what would cause it to not be able to is just a mystery.

Im now wondering if something from the outside is causing this error, maybe something on the network is sneding something to its IP address and causing this ?

Hmmmmmmm....

According to the Series 2 reference guide page 108
,d.dmQ&cad=rja

"Internal system error. Contact Crestron."

Whats weird is I was using a CP2E and it had this error and I switched to a pro2 and it has this error.

Hmmmm.....

Even more confuzing... I deleted ALL my ethernet devices and the error continued.

OK I initialized and reset the Pro 2. I then loaded a blank Pro2 program.

I still get the errors..

I have uploaded a SystemInfo dump of the system with the errors and a blank Pro2 program.

I've seen this error, but can't for the life of me remember what
the solution was. Did you try disconnecting the network cable
and monitoring the processor via serial to see if it still happens?

Have you set SHOWEXTRAERRORS ON? That may give something helpful

I have maybe an answer for you. Do you know id the network sending RIPV1
request on the network.

I got an issue of a mpc-m5 reaetting every minute due of that and i have
that measage in the error lof of another processor and i think the error
message stop when the client turn off that request on the network.

Maybe a conicidence.

Nagel ends up getting used to more efficiently transfer data, given that if you want to transmit a single byte, the overhead is huge on a TCP/IP packet.

For a console session, I can see them wanting to. You want the data as it happens, not in "spurts" as the system decides to gather it up and transfer it in a lump according to however Nagel decides.

But, that's just my guess.

Chip

It's not helpful that the error message doesn't tell you what port the error is associated with...

If your IP table is complete empty and you get that message, I'm wondering if something on the network is trying to open and close another connection very rapidly for some reason? Something trying to connect to the processor on port 23 or 41794?
