Peavey Digitool MX

A client of mine has a Peavey Digitool MX, and to date we have successfully controlled volume and called up presets (RS-485). The presets are used to route various inputs to various outputs. The problem is, every time you call up a preset, it resets the volume level to whatever state it was recorded in when creating the preset.

Is there a way to route inputs to outputs other than using presets? Or is it possible for the audio DSP programmer to record their presets without volume level?

The RS-485 document I have only details volume/mute and preset control.

Any pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks!

PITA, but how about...

Store all presets with output level at 0.
When calling up a preset, store the current volume level internally, ramp the output to 0, recall the preset, then ramp back up to the stored level...
