Smartboard USB control over DM USB-HID

Is the Smartboard considered an HID device? The PC is located in a cabinet with the DM8x8 and the Smartboard is located on an adjacent wall about 30' away Thanks for any info you may have.

Matt #178916 Kind of related note here - we recently purchased a Gefen USB 2.0 extender that was quite pricy for connecting our smart board to a Mac mini across the room. Had terrible issues with the pen tray not wanting to connect... jbudz1977 All Messages By This Member #178918 Funny, we have been using the Gefen quite a bit and have had great luck with it. We even have had success putting a web cam and the Smart Board into the 2 ports on the receiver with no issues... 搁补辫丑补毛濒 All Messages By This Member #178919 The problem with usb is the amount of hub between the computer and the device. I see some extender acting like 3 hubs when connected. jbudz1977 All Messages By This Member #178937 Good point. We NEVER use the USB speakers, they are terrible.
