Cameo Wireless Wallbox Dimmer Opinions?

Hi Group,
I am considering specifying the clw-dimex-p wallbox dimmers for a project. I'm interested to know the group's experience with this product. More specifically:
1. reliability
2. durability
3. feature set
4. performance
5. pros
6. cons

Thanks in advance for any opinions you have to share about this product.

Peter

We use lots of them, no real complaints about the particular model.

My complaint about the line in general is that the '-P' models use white LEDs and the '-E' models use an uglier green LED, so if you use both side-by-side it looks funny. Breaking visual uniformity between similar products like that kills me.

I've used plenty of them and haven't really had any real problems.

I dislike how stiff the buttons are, especially when they are new. Lots of missed presses when you just tap it on the way by. The one in my office doesn't press at least a third of the time.

Infinet ex has been very successful/stable for me.

Only thing to watch out for is that the dimmers CANNOT get backlight engravings like the similar C2N-CBD-P cresnet keypads can. So make sure you don't promise the light switches will have backlighting like we once did.

Or if you can use the keypads instead they are more flexible.

I feel like this is a big problem with the paddle button but not nearly so
much if you replace it with the two large buttons. Still not perfect
perhaps but better. I'd be interested to hear if you feel otherwise.

That's funny, because I have the two large buttons on the one in my office and it drives me nuts.

When I install them new, I've learned to go around and give them all a good mashing to loosen them up a bit.

We've installed about a thousand of these and the CLW-SWEX-Ps with great success. They are reliable and fairly durable with most of the features we've needed. The acquisition process is a little tedious, especially for a large installation. The gateway can support a lot of devices with good response time. The infiNet Diagnostic Tool is great for determining where there are "holes" in the coverage. We've only used these with D3Pro and that interface is feature-rich. We seldom see them falling off the network. We would always prefer the C2N-CBDs with CLX-xDIMx modules in a CAEN cabinet but retrofits often preclude that approach.

Here's the things on our wish list for these dimmers:
1. Backlighting
2. Consistent button layouts with the other Cameos like INET-CBD and C2N-CBD. These are 6 button units and the CLW are 4 button so sometimes it's hard to get a uniform look at one site.
3. Even pressure side to side. The mechanical guts of the dimmer is on one side so pressing that side takes less pressure than the other. Missed presses are significantly higher on the "other side". It would have been good if the mechanism was on both sides of the button for consistent user results.
4. Can sometimes strip the terminals if torqued to typical electrician torque levels.

Can you use a non-dimmable load like a florescent light with a CLW-DIMEX-P set in switch mode or do you have to use CLW-SWEX-P?

The DIMEX's work fine when set in switch mode, in my experience.

Right we've really only needed the swex units for some outdoor loads (if I recal correctly the dimex is rated for 700 or 750W and the swex will do 1000W...

Yes, works great. D3Pro even reminds you to reconfig it to switch mode. We use SWEX on motors.

What is anyone using for fan control? We are now specifying a home that
will have 70+ loads of CLW dimmers but there are 5 rooms in the house that
have ceiling fans and of course the owner wants those controlled as well.
Can't throw a standard dimmer on it and Crestron keeps telling me to use a
CLX-1FAN4 but that is not an option in a 12K+ square foot house that is
already built and sprayed with icynene and custom marble throughout.
