How do you cut fiber?

Gerard

I'm doing my first DM fiber job. Installers will be running Crestron 8G Fiber (4 fibers in asingle jacket) off of 500 foot rools.

What is the proper tool for cutting the cable? I have the Kevlar shears that come with the Crestron termination kit but the instrucs indicate the shears are for the aramid yarn only.

For rough-cutting the whole assembly, I use telecom shears. Takes a few
cuts, but they get through without too much struggle.

Does anyone know why the telecom industry likes scissors versus other forms
of cutter? I much prefer the cutters on a good Klein stripper tool...
Scissors hurt my fingers.

I use a nice pair of Wiha diagonal cutters. They work great. They make one clean cut, where my Klein cutters take a few passes.
