RTI T2-C
Chris Erskine
I have a project coming up where they spec'd an RTI T2-C. This is RF gateway for feeding into a Crestron system. The question I have is how the T2C is programmed and then how the interface is done to the Crestron system. I have worked with the URC remotes with loading the Crestron command set and then programming it as an ML-600. Is the T2C done in a similar way or what?

It's similar enough. I find it easier to use. There is a Creston library file you use to bring codes in just like any other IR device. Except these are the correct codes for the RF. I'm not sure where I got the library file from but I can post it if it's not here already. Anyway the library has what you need listed by RFID. If you have used RTI's Integration Designer before you will have no problems. If you have used any RTI software (Lexicon 700t, Sonance K2) before it will be easy . If you have not used any RTI software before give yourself a couple of hours to get comfortable with it. It's not that hard. On the Creston side you just bring in a CNRFGWA and add a ST1700 to it. You get 999 joins per RFID. HTH Robert On Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 6:21 PM, Chris Erskine <chris@...> wrote:

Hey Chris,
it's real easy. very similar to the URC remotes. Go to the RTI website and download the crestron rf tiggers from the dealer portion of the site. I think they offer ID 1-40 and offer triggers 1-999 for each ID. (something like that anyways) Once you have those, you are on your way. One side note, if you are doing multiple RTI's, be sure to use the "IR search and replace" tool for ID6.0. Just a quick suggestion. Use a single ID for all the common source commands
and individual ID's for each zone. Makes it much easier and quicker to make duplicates. From: Crestron@... That logically would work fine if you had only one gateway. Wouldn't
you run the risk of multiple presses if ID 10 contained all the source commands and was spread between multiple gateways? After playing with the Integration Designer, I think what John G was meaning was that no matter what page you were on, the 1 key would use the same join number. This would fit in with the use of crosspoint routing in the system. If you had another remote, it would be using a new RF ID. Or using the trick that I think Tony had, you would use a different set of joins using the same RF ID.

be join 51/id 10 and Source-2 KP-1 would be join 101/id 10. I only use different RF ID's for Zone commands. This allows for you to use the search and replace feature in Integration Designer. The range is pretty far, so I have not needed more than 1 gateway. I talked with TB about multiple gateways. Multiple gateways only act as antenna array. The net id of the gateways is really only identification on the cresnet network. Any gateway will respond and repeat any RF ID that it sees. If I was given misinformation please correct me. The other way to do this is to use join 51 for KP-1 on both source 1 and source 2. Start by making most of the buttons global buttons. You can then use either buffers or crosspoints to direct the join to the correct source. As has been discussed in other threads, crosspoints are very good for this. Then when you want to add a new source, there is a very small amount of logic to connect the crosspoint to the new source + adding the new equipment crosspoint and connecting it to the source control module.

Rather than using the RFID for zone commands, you can use them to define a new remote and this is where the search and replace. Chris -----Original Message-----
