Lutron HomeWorks RF module?

Hello,

We're doing our first HomeWorks RF job and find that there is no Crestron
module that will work. The ones in SIMPL and in the files area here do not
work for phantom keypad button presses or feedback.

In looking at the RS-232 protocol, the HomeWorks RF processor is looking for
the KBP command to have an extra "Device Type" parameter.

A HomeWorks wired processor will take a command such as: KBP, [01:04:10], 1
This is processor 1, link 4, kp address 10, button 1

A HomeWorks RF processor needs a command formatted as: KBP, [01:08:02:10],
1 This is processor 1, link 8, device type 2, kp address 10, button 1

All of the modules we've tried do NOT allow the device type to be included
in the command string.

The feedback that Lutron provides also has this device type.

Does anyone have a module that works for a HomeWorks RF processor?

We've temporarily created one-way strings to activate the scenes but two-way
needs to work soon!

We're not yet good at creating our own modules or parsing serial strings to
extract the proper feedback.

Thanks,

George

I've got several that work; I'll post them this week-end.

in addition, IIRC, I think there is a module in the files section associated
with this group...you may want to check that out too.

Hello Joseph,

I've tried the modules in the group files area. I was hoping the
one named "Lutron HomeWorks.zip" would work. It says it has an
added device parameter for wireless.

No go, the serial output string is not formatted correctly. And
editing the User Module for it I see that it has other issues. The
Keypad Release symbol and Keypad Hold symbol have incorect KBP -
Keypad button press commands instead of the KBR and KBH commands...

If you have one to post or email, I would really appreciate giving
it a shot.

Thanks in advance,

George P.

Did anyone ever post the Lutron Homeworks module that works with RF?

I am interested in it as well. Anyone that has it, is it possible to
upload it to the files section, or email it to me?

Thanks,

-David

Jim Tucker

I uploaded a modified Lutron module that works with the new protocol for
RF. I hope this helps you out.

Thank you very much!

A client's home I am presently working in has the Lutron HW RF system
already in place. The Processor (HRP 5-120) got wet and after
replacement the newer Lutron panel with their latest firmware does
have the newest need for this special format adding the Link info.
After trying to edit the old module without any luck, I tried the
latest DL from this forums site and behold I do have the actual
button presses operating but not 100%. Lutron operates fully stand
alone. All my Phantons operate using their terminal interface. I am
new using the latest RF module off this site, added in the analog
init for each added module and all the scenes work.

I just have no feedback at all (I have the serial driver at 9600 baud
for now). Is that the issue? Should it be raised up? Before the
lutron pro needed replacement the intergration was flawless. I was
able to press a tpmc-10 to power on a scene using one button press,
then press again and hold to adjust the dim level. The press and hold
feature that used to be known in the system had stopped so the dim
feature of a scene is no more and the feedback. I have used the
debugger on all lighting signals and fb. I just can't get this to
work again. Any ideas anyone? It is very hard to get Lutron to help
with Crestron when they are not buddies anymore. I still would like
to complete this phase of the house and get it all back up like
before but this relationship between Crestron and Lutron has made it
very difficult for me to get this resolved. If there is anyone with
ideas of the proper baud for the feedback to operate at all let me
know what is best.

Thanks,
BNC
