Crestron app, before I make a expensive mistake
I have one iphone and 3 ipads, all on the same Apple account.? I had the three ipads connected and running the same free 2 page app.? I have a little fun project trying to monitor my generator that is not wifi enabled.? After creating the third page for the iphone, things went south. First I got the notice that to view the page I needed to do the upgrade.? I did that from the iphone and the upgrade flag at the bottom went away but the three tablets are still asking for the upgrade, showing the flag.? In settings on the ipad there is a place to "restore purchase".? I tapped on that but it appears to be asking for another $99.99.? Am I just to go through the motions here or will it grab another chunk of money?? Thats problem 1.
Next, I was tired of getting the message to enable authentication. So I did and lost connectivity with all the ipads and the phone.? I'm not sure if that caused the problem or setting up the mycrestron domain name that caused me to loose connectivity. I did them both at the same time.? I took them both away and still no connectivity. Prior to that, the free 2 pages was working perfectly from the 3 ipads. |
Ahhhh, having a alcohol induced brain fart.? I have everything upgraded to the Pro version. I'm pretty sure I have things set up correctly but probably not.? I can't get the iphone project and ipad project working at the same time.? If the phone project is working the ipad project says "project file not found".? If I upload the ipad project again then the iphone project says "project file not found".? Also, when the iphone project works locally and I shut wifi off, I can't connect from outside.? Sure that's just another setting I'm missing.? I shouldn't have gone to the Chinese restaurant with my brother for my birthday drink or....

Name VTPro projects different names, avoid spaces and funky characters. Example: Project_phone, Project_tablet; Push both to processor.
In SiMPL, for each instance of phone or tablet, define the name of the VTProject respectively.? If using local project, push VTPro to device and I think the name doesn't matter in this case. |
Everything locally is working fine.? Just not connecting from outside.? When setting this up, it automatically populated HTTP port 80.
Been searching and have read some routers won't take port 80.? Is there a preferred port that is bullet proof that I should use.? This is the way I have it now? There's only 3 entries and enable on Host name or IP address? ****.mycrestron.com HTTP Port? ? 80 CIP? 41796 Enable? ON |

For this test project, I now have just 2 IP ID's? (04 and 05)? When I first set them up was before enabling SSL.? When I did that, my HTTP ports changed from 80 to 443 and my CIP ports changed from 41794 to 41796 but even so, they were both working locally. I forwarded both 443 and 41796 and still no outside connection. In toolbox I opened the IP table and see that it's listing both IP ID 04 and 05 IP address at 127.000.000.001, both type slave and both ports listed at 41794.? So I guess I need to modify those IP addresses to match the devices and change 41794 to 41796?????
